    It's true.

    But...

    1. Is it wise to publicly belittle the rest of the Rockets?
    2. Whose fault is it that the rest of the Rockets are not talented?

Yeah Daryl. What's wrong with you telling the truth and stuff?

(You know it's a big secret in the league and nobody knows that about Harden.)

This is the truth but it is wrong for Morey to be saying this publicly. The guy has poor discretion and just needs to learn to shut up.

Morey might have a good argument for Harden to be MVP. But I'd rather be the team that leads the league in wins and has beaten the Rockets 4 times than the team that would be nowhere without its best player.

kind of a weird thing for him to say but it's a vote of confidence in harden as the league's best playmaker. i doubt smith, brewer, beverley, whoever are offended by this.

If u give blame to Morey for this, it's unfair.
The team building is a long long diffcult process

My guess is this will sound better in context.

Sounds like an MVP endorsenent by Daryl instead of a slam on the roster

Let's make something of nothing shall we....

He could have worded it better, like "without James Harden we are an average/mid level team..." Which in Morey's eyes would be 'nowhere'....

You guys get more ridiculous by the day. Just enjoy the season without nitpicking every single little minute detail. If you want to have an actual bball discussion, fine, but this is just insanity. A quote that is not only out of context, but also 100% true, being scrutinized is not worth a thread in my opinion.

Well, aside from Dallas every single playoff team in the West has one or more self-drafted high lottery pick(s) that play a key role. High lotto picks help tremendously when you are building a contender as you introduce major talent without giving up anything. The Rockets never had that luxury, which makes Morey's feat of building a contender without high lotto picks so astounding.
