we offered up Pels pick,Knicks pick, DMo, Tjones and whoever else not named Harden/Howard?

Is that enough to get us top 3?

So, you mean to get Russell?

You mean, how much would we give up to take a step backward?

Not only do trades like that never happen in the draft nowadays...you don't take a step backward like that when you want to contend. C'mon man.

Yes, that would be regressive. If we could go after a young Lebron, KG, Duncan, Durant and a current (healthy) Anthony Davis in the draft, I would give all that up. It would be very doubtful, if any of those players would be available anyway.

Trading up happens practically every draft. Wake up.

As far as a step back don't know how anybody can say that. You don't know how good the players picked with the picks are going to be and you don't know how good of a player we could sign would be.

Try answering the question reasonably through thought process instead of writing it off without thinking about it.

    Of course trading up happens.

Trading up from late lottery to Top 3 most certainly does not happen.

You can only offer a trade like that if you know josh smith is returning. Since we don't it's way too risky. Otherwise I would agree.

Just another reason why the nba needs to follow the nfls lead and move the draft to after free agency begins. Schedule it in the middle of July and let teams know what their holes are.

    The question was:

How far up in the draft could we move up if we combined the Pels pick, the Knicks pick, DMo, TJones, and whatever other assets not named Harden and Howard?

Think about the question and what teams in the lottery would give up their lottery pick for that package.

Outside of the top 5 for sure. I'm only seeing teams that want elite, young talent rather than trading down and getting a vet. At that point, it wouldn't be worth it.

What if Atlanta, by virtue of owning the Nets pick, sneaks into the top 3?

Atlanta would keep the pick. They wouldn't want Dmo and Jnes. Would rather get a fresh rookie contract and keep Horford and Millsap

So if they're at #3 and Okafor and KAT are gone, who is Atlanta going to take?

Then I imagine they get a better offer from someone else higher in the lottery than us or take Russell.

I am not sure I want to trade up. I think our goals should be as follow:
    1) Draft Devin Booker with NOP
    2) See if someone slips in the draft
    3) Draft a big
    4) Trade it

    1. Why do you want Booker?
    2. Who?
    3. Kaminsky? Or what other big?
    4. For what?

If we can somehow get assurance that josh would resign i think this would be a good move for us going forward, if there was a chance we can draft mudaiy or russell i would def trade dmi or jones along with the peels pick..

a lot depends on what we can get for dmo+pels pick(or tones)...if we can get lawson than we should jump on that but if we don't find a trade partner for a significant pug at the pg position , then i would def do a trade for one of these rookie players

If lawson can be had, go for him. Would much rather rely on a vet than a rookie, and I highly doubt we could move up high enough to select either one of the top pgs.

Would love to have D'Angelo Russell play the point for us but I don't think we can move up far enough to get him so I'd just keep the NOP pick and look to draft a big or a point guard.

    Ideal draft targets:

    Jerian Grant
    Trey Lyles
    Frank Kaminsky

Or if we're lucky maybe Myles Turner or Kevon Looney fall to us.
