When Rockets games are on ESPN/TNT I've noticed the announcers suck. But when I'm casually watching other team's the announcers are fun to listen to. This is probably due 100% to bias :)

I feel like my opinion on this isn't that accurate. So who do you guys think the best/worst announcers are on national tv?

    Best -
Play by Play: Kevin Harlan, Marv Albert, Mike Breen, Mike Tirico
Color: JVG, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller? (he's been a lot better lately)

    Worst -
Play by Play: I don't know, the rest of them are just alright.
Color: Hubie Brown, Jon Barry, Mark Jackson, Charles Barkley calling games

I can't listen to his voice. It's not aesthetically pleasing at all and the entertainment value of listening to him is very low. He knows his stuff obviously but I just don't enjoy it when he's on the air.

Worst Color - Hubie, only Mark Jackson is even comparable in terms of terribleness

Worst local - Scott Hastings from Denver

What's wrong with Webber? Dude is very energetic.

Last year during our playoff series, we got Joel Meyers and Chris Webber, and they were really energetic.

I don't like Joel Meyers on the Pelicans broadcast though.

    1) Kevin Harlan
    2) Everybody else
    3) Man I really hate Miller, Brown, all the color announcers who basically love hearing the sound of their own voice
    4) I think Mark Jackson might be the worst, and that's saying something. Hopefully some college hires him or something so I never have to hear him or hear about him again.

I like listening to Hubie Brown. He's a great basketball mind, knowledgable, articulate, and insightful. Clyde should take notes.

I HATED Joel Meyers' announcing during the playoffs. Albert and Harlan are my personal favorites. I hate Webber; Miller is a little bit better.

Hubie can get kind of annoying. He tends to love the "underdog" team and will unconsciously root for them. I recall that Rockets-Nuggets game when he sounded so heartbroken when Houston was making key plays but would get excited when Denver made plays. He isn't the worst but certainly not the best.

Doug Collins isn't bad but he will never get any compliments from me. I still remember how he defended and even praised Fisher after the Scola incident. "Sometimes toughness comes from somewhere least expected. Fisher is the toughness on this Laker team."

The no names they try to pair with ex players like Greg Anthony or Grant Hill are okay.

Best ones are JVG, Webber, Breen, Jones, Albert and Tirico. Miller is getting there, but he has to stop trying to coin phrases. Also, I liked whenever Steve Kerr did games.

I think that he unconsciously roots for the underdog because he is a coach, after all. He wants to see the losing team do well and is happy when they make key plays.

Doug Collins and Hubie Brown both want to have sex with their own voices.

I didn't realize people disliked Chris Webber. He has to be one of the best to listen to. You can tell he actually watches quite a lot of games. He's knowledgeable about the game. And he actually provides entertainment value.
