Pretty simple question...I'm leaning towards the Trail Blazers (For redemption), the Mavs (To 'hate' beat them), or the Spurs (Since they are the champs, losing wouldn't feel as bad, and winning would be so much sweeter)

Blazers and Mavs right now look less likely to beat us compared to every other team. Maybe Spurs. I don't mean to be a debbie downer, but even though our defense is pretty great this season our offense has been straight ass. rockets arent going to go very far if we can't score.

Would love to beat the Blazers or Mavs more than anyone else.

I don't think it matters. Rox need to be focused on being the best team they can be and let the rest take care of itself. Rox supposedly had a favorable playoff match-up last year and we all know what happened. It's going to be tough in the West no matter who they play.

Do we still match up the best against the Spurs?

Team I most want to beat / sweep is the Mavs, but I think we match up better with the defending champs.

Morey really should look at this thread.

With the current lineup, I see in no way at all that Rockets beat one of them!!!

Only teams I'm concerned about are the Clippers and the Thunder. Damn Perkins gives Dwight fits, and the Clippers just have our number.

The West is seriously ridiculous. There isn't a single team in the top 8 that will be an easy out. All of them are really good teams.

That said, the NBA playoffs is all about matchups and adjustments. I don't think we match up very well against the Clippers, Thunder or Grizzlies. I would much rather play any of the Mavericks, Spurs, Blazers or Warriors. Not that they would be easier....just that I think we match up better against them

    Mavs or Blazers or Spurs.

Whichever one we will absolutely crush.
    Mavs have no defence.
Blazers we owe big time. Refs + Lin screwed us last time.
Spurs are a guaranteed 2nd round - Harden is their kryptonite (and historically so is Jason Terry).

I wanted to face Dallas because I really believed we could take them. Now, I"m not so sure. We're gonna have to play the remaining games against them to truly see how we stack up.
As of right now, I'd prefer to play the Blazers. Then Mavs, Spurs, GSW, Grizzlies, OKC, and lastly the Clips.

I'm confident that we could beat POR, however not sure with the remaining teams.

I'm a relatively new basketball fan (I'm 18, been following the game for about 10 years religiously). Can anyone recall a stronger conference or a bigger disparity between the East and West?

I want to play the Mavs. Not just because they're the Mavs but also because I think they are team that can best be exploited.

Before tonight, I'd agree with you. We need to see how Rondo fits with the Mavs before we can straight up claim we can destroy them.

Yeah right. A healthy Rockets team will be a hard matchup for them.

    I hate threads like this.

We have a shot versus anyone other than okc. Okc will absolutely crush us. Even against the clippers it's possible. This isn't the same clippers team as the last few seasons.

Our best matchups would be Dallas/Portland/GSW/Memphis.

Don't want to see the Spurs even though our team is their kryptonite in the regular season. They are a completely different animal in the playoffs. Harden owns them though so it wouldn't be worst case scenario.

    Clippers would be second worst

But as I mentioned okc is a guaranteed loss.
