I think people have noticed that when says anything about the grizzlies it's usually a backhanded compliment. I can't pin down any specific comment, but in general when you listen to him about the grizzlies. I remember one game when the grizzlies were on national tv and he said something like I hope this game gets better geez. Thjis was when the grizzlies couldn't buy a basket. Tonight he says that the grizzlies need a wing scorcer before they are championship material for the times when the team bogs down in the 4th quarter and he said that vice carter and tayshaun when "long in the tooth" in terms of talent when the guy asked him about the memphis bench but that he liked kosta.
You mean there's a person who likes to see the ball go through the hoop? I find that shocking. I can't imagine any person watches basketball for that reason. JVG must be crazy.
Wow. I have to hand it to you, your perspectives are always interesting. That's a nice way of saying, WHAT???????????
If JVG said half the stuff about the rockets as he does about the grizz, all hell. Ya'll would be beside yourselves. Fortunately, jvg is a rockets homer, even former rockets players: "his blind love for Toronto raptors, as an example."
So he doesn't have this blind love for Courtney Lee? Look, if you want to see a famous NBA commentator with real dislike for an organization, look no further than Charles Barkley and his opinion of the Rockets. THAT is what bias really looks like.
I second this, and i don't see how he's hating on Memphis but it sounds like he's complaining about the fact that Mem don't get as much attention as Rockets do from JVG. but again, i expect anything from whaaaaaat.
It's too bad those who geographically should be Grizzly fans are U Tennessee fans and Vanderbilt fans who at this point of the year are chanting SEC! What just wants some love.
Stuff he says about the rockets can't really be taken at face value, because as you said he's a homer, but JVG is more like, Rockets : Homer, Everyone else : realistic. The Grizzlies do need a wing creator, and Vince really isn't the same guy he was, even last year. He doesn't really think the warriors are contenders either, perhaps his standards are a bit too high in general?
