Quite the impressive feat for an undrafted free agent. If you would have told me we would of had a backup center in the top 10 of the rookie ladder, must of us would have thought Capela.

I like Tarik. Sure he's not extremely talented, but he does the dirty work and it looks like he's getting better every day.

Congrats Tarik, hopefully the thumb heals quick!

But I thought this was supposed to be the best rookie class since 2003...

I'm kinda surprised he's ahead of Kpap too. But a lot of what Kpap does, doesn't show up in the box scores.

Means nothing. He is still a grade A certified scrub.

Here's how I look at it:
    Howard>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Black>>>>>>Dorsey

There's such a large gap between our centers.

Black may end up being a serviceable back up center one day...today is not that day. The man works hard, but he belongs in the D League right now. He absolutely does not belong on this rookie ranking list -- not in the top 10, or even the top 20.

Pumpernickel should be on this list by the way.

I thought he looked decent last night. First time I can say that about him. Much better than that pile of steaming garbage we call Joey Dorsey.

I always wanted that KJ McDaniels. I really thought we would have takenhim at Capelas spot.

I fail to see how D-Mo at backup 5 isn't an upgrade to Black and Dorsey. We could even get rid of both to bring in multiple vet 4s

Black's underrated on this board. He's definitely not that good, but he's not Dorsey-esque garbage like people make him out to be.

I think Black will develop into a very serviceable player. He works hard on the court, and he must have worked hard in training to have made the team.

I really think he can be a good backup C given one regular season of experience. I can also see him turning into a really really good defender as he gains experience.

Don't know why guys are so hard on him. He's an undrafted FA. The possibility that he could turn into a decent player in the near future is reward enough. He's not really to blame for being unable to handle the starting C spot of a Western contender.

Agreed, I'm not sure why anyone would bag on Tarik? This is the kind of player I would think all Rockets fans would appreciate.
