Would we have won last night if Omer Asik was still a rocket?

I'm going with yes. I have a feeling we will regret trading him come playoff time. One of the worst trades in the past few years in my book.

The 1st round pick didn't even have a rebound.

No because Asik would be out with an "injury" waiting to get traded.

Asik didn't want to be here... he was never going to be here this year, ever! Having him backup Dwight is a huge waste of his talent.

We wouldn't be 6-1 or even 7-0 with Asik.

We lost last night because we jacked up a million contested 3's, not because of our defense.

Never mind the fact that Asik didn't want to be here so he probably would have been pouting, and his salary would have prevented us from signing Ariza and gaining the asset we needed to dump Lin.

    That's a ridiculous question.

    WE ARE NOT GOING 82-0

Asik didn't want to be here. People refuse to understand that. Wait til that pick becomes something. The same haters will be on the Morey bandwagon.

He didn't want to be here man.
We let the players who don't want to be here go to teams like the pelicans or Knicks

    From the salary cap update:

Houston’s total haul from the Omer Asik trade this past July is now Ariza, Terry, a potential lottery pick and two second rounders, making it one of the most underrated deals of the 2014 offseason.

so...If we haven't traded Asik, theres a great possibility we might still have lost. Just keep in mind that this team is a work in progress, and Morey is not done yet.

Are you referring to pre or post Howard Asik? Pre Howard Asik wins us the game. Post Howard Asik probably not.

We would have won easily with Asik, no question. But he didn't want to be here, and for good reason. We traded Asik because it was the right thing to do. We signed Asik to be a starter not a backup.

Also Morey is focused on the future. Trading Asik for a draft pick was the right move in order to keep hope alive for acquiring our third "elite" player. It is what it is, let's move on.

Possibly. There is no way of telling. But we certainly were going to lose with only one serviceable big in the rotation. When D-Mo got gassed things went downhill quickly. I am surprised Bogut did not leave stains on the floor from running over Papa.

Move on already, Asik did not want to be on the team. He was half a$$ing his play and he was wanting to be traded. I am glad he is not on the team and wish him well. As for the Rockets all they need now is a true backup Center and this will be set.

I believe Morey is close to done, at least with the major pieces. Teams need a couple of seasons together to develop the chemistry needed to go far in the playoffs. Now is the time that Morey sits back, enjoys the fruits of his labors, and makes minor adjustments. Hopefully we will not see more epic Bosh failures.

Asik was traded for Ariza. And allowed the acquisition of Jason Terry.

So maybe the Rockets would have won last night with Asik.

But would they have beaten the teams they ready played with no Ariza? Probably not. So the net benefit is positive.

Not only was Asik traded for Trevor Ariza and Jason Terry, but the Rockets also got the Pelicans' first round pick and 2 second round picks. Those can be traded for another player.

So the full value of the Asik trade hasn't even been realized yet.

Having Asik = NOT having Ariza + Terry.

    Not 6-0 WITH Asik anyway.
