    The front runners:

Jabari Parker SF Bucks - Very talented scorer already, excellent footwork and knows how to use his 6-8 235lb frame to his advantage. Kidd will lean on the NBA-ready rook to revive the Buck's offensive ineptitude. A safe choice but definitely a logical one.

Plenty of highlights on youtube, but I'll pick out this fantastic move to seal the win with 40s to go from an untelevised game vs Minny.

Nerlens Noel C 76ers - With the team going nowhere, he'll have every opportunity to showcase his talent (like his teammate MCW). While he was raw coming out of Kentucky, he now has the advantage of developing in an NBA environment. Excellent size and athleticism should let him rack up the boards and defensive plays with ease. It only helps that MCW loves to use the high pick and roll.

Andrew Wiggins SG Timberwolves - A victim of the hype train, some folks are dismissive of his chances. Lucky for him, he gets to play with an excellent pass-first veteran PG in Rubio and won't have the pressure of carrying the team. Minny's fast pace is a match made in heaven for his elite athleticism and fantastic finishing ability. Flip isn't a terrible coach and should be able to get Wiggins plenty of opportunities to attack the rim.

He had an excellent SL, but I wanted to show some of his highlights from playing with Rubio

    The Talented 2nd Tier:

Doug McDermott SF Bulls - A lethal shooter with limited ability to break down defenders, McBuckets should get plenty of open looks on a loaded Bulls team. The formula is simple, if he makes his shots, he'll see the floor; Thibs has little patience otherwise. It will take a good deal from him to rise above the other candidates as his role is well defined, but anything is possible.

Julius Randle PF Lakers - In a perfect world, Randle would be starting with Kobe and Lin on a tanking Lakers squad running PnR's 'till the cows came home. Unfortunately Jordan Hill, Boozer, Ed Davis and Byron Scott ruined that dream. Still, the rookie looks very capable of handling the NBA's physicality and does a good job of contributing without demanding touches. Randle has a solid post game, but it remains to be seen what kind of system the Lakers put in place.

Marcus Smart PG Celtics - Physical, quick and tenacious. Boston fans are already in love with this kid. Unfortunately, until the management decides to actually flip Rondo, it will remain to be seen how Brad Stevens will play the two ball dominant guards who can't shoot. Lucky for him, he should still see plenty of opportunities to put his mark on the game on a squad desperate for offense.

    The Dark Horses:

PJ Hairston SG Charlotte - Kind of flew under the radar due to his unique circumstances but definitely fits the bill for what the Hornets need. The kid has a full year of the D League under his belt and doesn't need to prove that he can flat out score. Playing behind Lance Stephenson will hamper his production a bit, but Steve Clifford is talented enough to utilize him well off the bench.

Elfrid Payton PG Magic - Kid's got the Harden and Simmons stamp of approval and his hair has won hearts across the twitterverse. Fantastic defensive potential with rebounding ability give him an edge. Playing with Vucevic and the other athletic Magic players will definitely help his cause.

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ukS2CDq4lxY?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Dante Exum PG Jazz - A weak SL derailed some of the hype surrounding the super talented Australian. Regardless, the Jazz offense has looked fluid in the preseason due in no small part to Exum's excellent court vision and passing ability. He has looked much more patient in Quin Snyder's system and the rest of the squad is benefiting greatly from it. Unfortunately, there will be competition with the quietly productive Trey Burke. Exum's chances for ROY improve greatly if Burke agrees to play off the ball a bit.

    Names to Watch:

Nik Stauskas SG Kings, Rodney Hood SG Jazz, Cleanthony Early SF Knicks, Kyle Anderson SF Spurs, Nikola Mirotic PF Bulls

    Let the hype begin!

Wiggins had no shot on Cleveland, but as a part of the Twolves with Rubio feeding him, I can see him winning it.
