Why would we want to give up the only starting caliber point guard on this team when Dwight is clearly in win now mode? By that logic we should try to trade Dwight and Ariza and multiple lottery picks and rebuild around Harden.
yes he could get that, especially given his low salary. we probably couldnt get that from a likely lottery squad, but i don't see why we would make that trade. bev is better, right now, than any player we'd grab outside of the top 10 picks
So that Canaan can start? No thanks. But yes, he is worth a first rounder and more. Perhaps a late lottery pick. ALL NBA 2nd TEAM DEFENSE speaks
You are absolutely right, the answer is Canaan. Please, keep creating new threads, forum needs your expert opinions.
Depends on how he plays this year, my question is with our pg situation already not the most ideal why would we want to do this
k-pap still doesn't appear on the rockets.com official team roster….maybe he still hasn't signed yet lol
I think they easily could for a player of Beverley's caliber. Late first round picks aren't exactly hard assets to come by. But why would the Rockets make that deal? A late first round pick doesn't make them any better in the next 2-3 years, and Beverley is clearly the best PG they have on the roster right now. Trading him for a pick makes absolutely zero sense.
Let's hand the reigns to Ish Smith and Isiah Canaan. At least we'll have a future first rounder to enjoy.
As to his real value...how much it would translate to in a deal. Considering, his cheap contract, and production...for the right team. Easily, the equivalent of a first in the mid twenties....most likely that + a 2nd ...?!?
