Whats the plan with daniels? I remember he played well in the playoffs. He may be a better option than jet terry

    Good thought ned.

I think the plan is to play him off the bench. And use Terry as trade filler later

He may be tall, but he was told to work on developing some PG skills. I'm pretty sure he'll fill in if Canaan hits some ruts on the way

    Daniels IMHO is overrated.

    Terrible defender.
    Solid shooter (40ish% from 3)

People make out like he is the 2nd coming of Korver. I wish he was. But he isnt....

Awesome shot in the playoffs though!!!!

He's not Korver, but for as many 3's as he takes, his percentages are pretty awesome.

If he gives us 2-4 3's a game, that'd be terrific.

Yep Houston doesn't need his 48% 3pt shooting

All he needs to be is something close to a Ray Allen in his later years. That would be ideal. Use his speed to lose the defender and have a quick catch and shoot release.

There's not enough tape on daniels to come to this conclusion so stop talking out of your ass.

Sorry for the random question about the random player...but his shooting presence will be key. Im just worried about this teams depth

How did nick johnson do in the summer league?

Cannon has talent but reminds me of nate robinson

Johnson's Summer League performance was impressive. Aside from the highlight plays, he played tenacious defense (a little too aggressive at times) and I was shocked at how good his court vision was. His handles could use some work, but they're not bad. His biggest weakness right now is his jump shot.

Canaan tries to play like Kyle Lowry, and it worked decently for him in the Summer League. His shot seems pretty streaky (it looks good though) and his PG skills are not very good. His defense is also pretty questionable.

As for the original topic, Troy Daniels. The guy can shoot the lights out. He's been working on his ball handling this offseason, so we'll have to wait and see if he can play minutes at PG. To the person who said he can play SF, that's highly doubtful because he's pretty thin and he's 6'4". As to his defense, that's also a question mark. But he can shoot the hell out of the ball, and that'll be enough for him to get minutes off the bench.

Yeah, I'm not too sold on Daniels but he;s one of those players that could give you 9 points in just 14 minutes of play lol.

It's not enough to be able to shoot threes at a high percentage. Check out Ray Allen. He releases the ball super fast. Or how about Korver? Catches and gets a three off within like .5 seconds. Reddick runs around like the dickens and can catch and shoot while still on the run even. Not everybody can do that! It's not enough just to be able to shoot. Who cares if you can shoot 50% from three but are only able to get off 2 three-attempts a game. Game 6 of last years playoffs Daniels played like 20-plus minutes and only took 2 shots because Portland knew he could shoot the three and had him covered like glue. It was a waste. You have to be able to play off the ball and get open...and that takes time to learn.
