Thread is self-explanatory. Who do you bring in with your room exception and minimum salaries?

    Room exception addition:
Option 1: SF: Caron Butler- We need a defensive-minded wing to spell James and Chandler
Option 2: C: Chris Anderson- Great rebounder and shot-blocker. Solid FT shooter. Omer showed us how important a back-up C is even with Howard.

    Minimum Additions:
Center: Emeka Okafor - why? Hometown discount for a solid vet
PG: Aaron Brooks- why? An offseason isn't complete w/ an AB0 signing
SG: Troy Daniels- why? Great shooter. Knows the system. Playoff hero.
SF: Anthony Morrow- why? Unbelievable shooter but awful defensively.
SF: Robert Covington- why? More upside on defense but still a great shooter.

But regardless, I can't remember the last time I was so excited about the Rockets!

(oh yeah, it was last summer when we got Dwight)

(oh yeah, and the time before that was the summer before when we got James)

    I <3 Moray!

Guys I would target with vets minimum or room exception if that is all we end up having:

    Jameer Nelson
    Aaron Brooks
    Caron Butler
    Chris Anderson
    Shawn Marion
    Troy Daniels (obv)

If they end up with the MLE via sign and trade then I would 100% target Mike Miller with the full MLE.

There's not a lot of great help left out there, and especially considering we'll have very little cap room to sign players, we'll have to rely on players taking discounts to play here.

Tracy McGrady for the Vet Min. Chance to win a championship to cement legacy.

I'd much rather go with random players playing in Europe or the D-league that Morey likes than a lot of these washed up veterans. I firmly believe the Heat would have four-peated if Morey was running them with his ability to find gems late in the draft and all over the world.

There is a lot of value to this team to have some tough vets that can come in off the bench.

Jameer Nelson is a logical play for both sides.

I would be absolutely shocked if Miller doesn't join Lebron on the Cavs considering how much LJ gushes about him. Allen as well.

As for our bench, I have absolutely no idea. Morey's going to have to find some gems or we are going to have one of the worst benches in the league. Then again, according to hoopsstats, we were in the bottom 10 in all bench categories last year so it's not like it can get a lot worse.

I never bought that. If you can play, you can play. All our main guys are grizzled vets who have all played in the Finals, we don't need extra "leaders", we just need players who can play.

Aaron Brooks for sure. He deserves more than the vet min and I hope he gets it, but if not I have zero doubts. I know Battier retired, but he was with the heartbreaking Yao Ming years, like the 22 game streak the 09-10 playoff team. Don't rule him out of retirement.
