How I first heard about him: James Franco's character in Spring Breakers is based entirely off of Riff Raff. What I know now -- he's from Houston, is tight with Snoop, sounds just like Paul Wall, and is pretty damn clever/ funny. I usually keep up on Houston rap and somehow I completely missed this guy -- I don't really like his sound that much, but he's a legit superstar. Some of his tracks are fun, but I haven't heard a home run from the videos i've listened to so far. What I vaguely remember is that he was almost Vanilla Ice level crap, but it's clear he has a lot of respect in the Rap world. So what's up with this guy? _____ NSFW language/ etc.
Not a fan. He's very hit and miss. You either like him a lot and praise his unique style, or you hate him because he's weird as ****. Tyler the Creator is hit and miss too.
He is a joke in the rap game that everyone is in on... his music is crap but he is funny so people put up with him
so hes trolling right? and accoriding to franco, his Spring Breakers character was NOT based on Riff Raff.
and according to franco he was NOT trying to have sex with an underage girl... nope he aint trolling, he is a thug mayne!
I mean going on the vid above alone -- Snoop and Riff Raff are a solid comedy duo -- the comments on the eagle and the goat at the end are classic.
He's big time now. Spits a couple of verses on this Far East Movement track. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ZxpMk3pvz44" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Good article on the story behind Riff Raff http://www.laweekly.com/westcoastso...kid-morphed-into-todays-most-enigmatic-rapper I find him fairly entertaining. Put a camera on him and ask him some questions; you'll definitely chuckle a bit. Definitely wittier than you think he is. If you don't mind always taking music so seriously, some of his songs are pretty good.
I don't think someone that most people have never heard of could be considered a superstar even under the most loose definition of "superstar" imaginable.
