Is there any chance we advance and McHale is still fired?

    This would be perfect.

    I really don't want an entire offseason and regular season of the media/fans saying we're chokers, dogging Dwight and Harden, and the team in general. Losing in the 1st round will do this. The hate for Howard is already there and Harden's is spreading like an epidemic. So advancing to the 2nd round is must not only for playoff experience, but also mentally for Rox fans and players.

    The question is can we advance AND McHale still gets fired.
    Perhaps a 2nd round sweep.

    What's baffling to me is that Morey is constantly, constantly tinkering with the roster and more than happy to ship out any player for an upgrade. Why stick with one of the worst game day coaches in the NBA? His rotations suck, he can't make adjustments, he can't write plays, apparently defensive scheming was all on Kelvin Sampson.

    Why would you not be willing to upgrade at coach? Just don't pick up McHale's option and grab one of the multiple veteran coaches who would be ecstatic to coach a team with this talent.

    Even if we win this series, this team is still very far from ever winning the title.

    That itself is not on McHale though. Even Morey would concede that. If the Rockets do pull off the comeback, I doubt McHale gets fired. A quality defensive assistant coach will definitely be hired in the offseason though. But we've still got a long way to go before even worrying about that.
