Starting a new thread. I didn't realize this injury happened due to the old thread being where it was discussed.

    Here's the news:

Pat Beverly has sprained his right knee. It seems serious and sounds like his season may be over, but we'll know more today after an MRI this AM.

    UPDATE: Rockets press release:

I think the Rockets' roster is going to look noticeably different in October.

Didn't he play on after that? So hoping it's not serious.

That's too bad. Bev is the spirit of this team.

On the bright side, Lin probably cant do any worse on Lillard... probably do a better job actually.

Yeah he did, but he could barely walk. No doctor, but I'll be shocked if we see Bev again this series.

Sadly, he probably won't be back this season. Looked pretty srs when he was limping and kept playing

I hope this guy is a Rocket for life. How incredible was that block he had on Lillard AFTER the injury (I believe??)

Too bad. We're in big trouble now.

I thought Harden would step up his defense, but I saw the same-old.

If Bev is done, can Canaan be activated and play?

This isn't a slight against Bev. More likely a slight against Harden and Howard. But if our team with two superstars is that reliant on a role player to bring energy and defense and winning a 1st round series than it's a sad state of affairs.

You hit the nail on the head. Last night their two star players outplayed our two star players. Our role players did fine. We should be able to replace one role player and still win if our two superstars perform as they are supposed to.

Absolutely. LMA and Lillard made it look easy. Harden and Howard made it look extremely difficult. Portland took it to them and they didn't respond.
