Via NBA.COM OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut has a fractured rib that could keep him out for the start of the playoffs. Warriors coach Mark Jackson said Monday night that an X-ray revealed the fractured rib. Jackson said Bogut is out "indefinitely" and there is no timetable for his return. Bogut left Sunday's overtime loss at Portland in the fourth quarter with the injury. Backup center Jermaine O'Neal was starting in Bogut's place Monday night against Minnesota. Jackson also said he also could slide power forward David Lee to center if needed. Last year's backup center, Festus Ezeli, has been out all season recovering from right knee surgery. Jackson says Ezeli is still rehabbing and is "day to day." OHH BIG BLOW FOR THE DUBS
Blake and Deandre are about to average 50 between the two of them this series. Warriors just lost any hope they had.
Warriors always seem to have key injuries to Lee ,Bogut , Curry . They get injuries way too often at the most critical times ( playoffs )
With Bogut, (along with Iggy) the warriors were a top 3 defensive team, without him, the warriors are at best average and at worst horrible defensively. While Iggy is a phenomenal all around defender and Klay Thompson a very good perimeter one, Bogut was the team's only Rim protector. His size, length and skill made him one of the leagues top interior defender despite his limited minutes (27m per game) due to his brittleness. I was sooo looking forward to the GSW vs LAC series, one I thought would be highly competitive and requiring atleast 6 and likely 7 games to finish. But without Bogut the warriors will be hard press to win 2 games to stretch the series to 6.
Looks like Clippers are advancing... damn. Was hoping GSW would be full strength and steal the series from them.
Really bad timing for GSW. Yah, Bogut has been injury prone the last couple years, but the timing really couldn't have been worse. Crazy bad luck for GSW. Clippers series is gonna be ugly unless the splash brothers go HAM. Best wishes to Bogut. I hate seeing a team work hard all season and then have crap like this happen to them.
Good thing Rockets didn't draw the Warriors. Dwight owns Bogut but for some odd reason O'neal owns Dwight.
damn, feels for the dubs....Bogut is such a dirty, mean SOB.....but with talent and size! this is Chris Paul's chance to get into the second round!
