Harden is not a great defender. Even if he is, you don't want your top player to be posted up all night long. In recent history, we had Mobley, Sura, World Peace, Battier who played good defense against Kobe and other big guards. Tonight Joe Johnson beat us almost single-handedly. Do we need a good defense player who can guard 2 and 3? The NBA has changed and most teams play fast-paced, so maybe such a role player is not important any more. Your thought?
Yes we do, we need that player at the 3 as a starter, but some are content with paying parsons $10mill
Fairly certain they will pursue Battier this offseason. A dedicated wing defender is a big need for us.
Neither, I haven't seen anyone effectively guard two players yet. We need Harden to give a sht about defense and Parsons to pick-it-up defensively.
Really? Mr. Intangible couldn't make a basket to save his life in all of his playoffs games with us, but decided to drop 20 points randomly with the HEAT whenever LBJ or DW was cold.
I'd say we need a competent backup swingman desperately. Our backup center is the best in the league. Our backup PF is pretty good. Lin is streaky as hell but can be a spark plug sometimes. But that backup 2/3 spot is so bad.
