The major issues this year have been that the Rockets have a very weak bench and lack a true starting point guard. Both of these weaknesses can be traced directly to Morey's incompetence in evaluating talent: not knowing which players to keep and which to let go of.

Where do the Suns come in? Allow JCDenton to break it down for you. This year they have assembled a 29-18 record, almost as good as the Rockets despite us having Harden and Howard and them having nobody even approaching a superstar. Why are the Suns relevant? Almost half of their points are being scored by players Daryl Morey let go for free or for trivial returns.

    Goran Dragic:
20ppg, 6apg and a deadeye shooter who would provide the range we desperately need to spread the floor (51% fg, 39% 3pt). Morey let this player walk for nothing to sign the disappointing Jeremy Lin, who averages only 13.4 ppg and 4.5 apg, and is much less efficient doing it (46% fg, 33% 3 pt. JCDenton's Official Grade: F-

Marcus Morris: Averaging 10ppg and 4rpg in only 22mpg. He would be the perfect backup behind Terrence Jones. Morey traded this player for a second round pick and decided to keep the disappointing Donatas Montejunas instead, who is averaging 4.3 ppg and 3.4 rpg. Donuts is also averaging almost 6 fouls per 36. JCDenton's Official Grade: D-

Gerald Green: Averaging 14 ppg in only 27 minutes, and doing it at a high true shooting percentage (44% fg, 38% 3pt, 85% ft). I've also heard he can dunk. Morey released this player for nothing. Instead, we have the disappointing Omri Casspi, who is not shooting as well as Gerald Green or scoring as many points, and Fransisco "Garbage" Garcia, who should be a 15th man or out of the NBA completely (38% fg, 34% 3pt, 58% ft). JCDenton's Official Grade: F+

Now, what do all three of the situations above have in common? Morey got rid of a quality player who went on to have success, for nothing or next to nothing, in a position that is now a position of need for the Rockets, and for which the Rocket's current player occupying the slot is subpar at best. Had Morey made the correct moves, the Rockets would be a legitimate contender this season instead of trying to put it all together. Imagine how much better this team would be with Dragic, Morris, and Green over Lin, Garcia, and D-Mo.

Morey has been treated like a god around here since getting Harden and Howard, but the facts show that he has mismanaged this team and should be fired.

You need to have a solid supporting cast outside of your star players. All the talk about a 3rd star is nonsense.

You are being unfair to Morey though, he hasn't had the financial flexibility of adding that supporting cast so far. He should trade Asik to get some quality players however, and hopefully he will.

Also, had we kept Goran on the contract similar to the one he got offered by the Suns, we would've had a tougher time signing Dwight.

Just because you write your name down with a letter grade that doesn't mean we can't still make fun of you for how dumb this is. In fact it just makes you look like that much more of a tool.

Have you considered applying for a position at the Bleacher Report? They would be a perfect outlet for your talent.

Go away dummy. Seriously, pointing out how 3 players are not playing well is not an accurate assessment of a GM's job. You can find 3 mistakes by every GM.

Every decision Morey made was to acquire 2 stars, we have 2 stars.

I don't get it OP. The Suns are in a similar position that the Rockets were in for several years, overachieving. They're still trying to chase an All-Star player over there.

Also, Gerald Green really? He wasn't relevant until he went to the Pacers and thought to himself, I really need to step up my game instead of being known as only a guy who can jump really high and dunk.

Lin would be as effective as Dragic if they swapped teams. I loved Goran when he was here, but the reason why he's exploded this year is because they literally have a team built around him (notice how he plays big minutes and controls the ball 90% of the time, and has the green light to do whatever he wants).

Green and Morris are both dime a dozen bench players you can pick up every free agency. People like them get dropped all the time - the true travesty would be if Morey decided to sign them to large contracts.

Ok, couple things from an actuall basketball player to you, the suns success is not based on individual talents for the most part but the will of the team. All the players on the suns bust it for 48 minutes and a night and enjoy themselves while playing both ends of the floor. Gerald green is actually better than most people thought he would be. The Morris twins play well together. Believe it or not plumblee is playing out of his mind from an effort standpoint and it helps to have a talented point guard like dragic to distribute the ball. Still to call DMo a scrub shows me you don't know basketball. Jlin has been on fire as of late and were he given charge of an offense a la Dragic, I guarantee you he would put up similar numbers. Garcia has been a disappointment so far this year but hopefully he can get his stroke back for us at some point. All in all, the reason the suns have played "better"given their payroll/talent is they are 1.better coached/utilized 2. Have young guys playing hard to earn contracts 3. Don't have any major defensive liabilities (Harden) 4. Haven't played as tough a schedule with as many back-to-backs against elite teams(as for who designed out schedule, I'd like to know :/)

Your "Indisputable Statistical Proof" is the dumbest, laziest possible direct comparison of box score numbers. Good job on that.

The Suns are going to be 8th or 9th seed, which is exactly where we were when we had Dragic et al and is exactly where we would be if we had kept them.

Marcus morris salary = 2m per year, soon to be un-restricted free agent
Gerald green salary = 3.5 mill for 3 years

having them both in the roster will prevent us from signing Dwight.

Dragic salary = 7.5 m for 4 years plus 1 year player option... problem here is 2015 free agency that includes lebron james and kevin durant... having dragic with player option puts morey at a very compromising position... if dragic continues to play well for the next 3 years, at year 4 he walks away for nothing... if dragic got injured at year 3, we will have a 7.5 mill furniture at year 3... he will also be 29 years old that time...

Jlin have a lot less freedom than Dragic and also plays less minutes. Dmo actually plays 12minutes and compared to Morris 22. You could argue Dmo is outperforming Morris. Green isnt doing that much better than Casspi and remember majority of minutes are played by CP, who is much better player than Green.
