Lebron would have left, but we'd have Irving.

i strongly douth that given GOOD front office like the Rockets have ,Lebron would had left.

i believe the rockets would had given him better help then Mo Williams :)
do you really think Morey would botch such an opportunity like the cavs did ? :)

This makes me happy because Adelman and JVG were fired. Gives me hope. ;)

the irony is all these people want JVG back because they see him on TV and he's an awesome analyst.

People forget that the fire JVG thread popped up pretty much every game cause the offense was so bad. Plus we couldn't get the job done in the playoffs. some one had to take the fall

Daryl Morey, no.......Carol Dawson...possibly. CD was the GM when Yao and Tracy were in their prime NOT Morey.

Yeah the Offense was pretty bad under JVG. So I understand why he was fired, I don't understand the Adelman firing though.

great scott! i thought it was well known that you retire a champion or coach long enough to get fired. pretty much the same for every coach, manager, director tecnico in every sport.

Neither was JVG. Rudy I can't really say, but it's quite likely that without all his health concerns, Les would've kept him on.

Unlike many posters here, the Rockets are a pretty class organization in terms of their front office. And at least before Morey came aboard, also very nice towards their players. Mo Taylor, Stro Swift, Kelvin Cato, Moochie, Maloney, and many others can surely attest. :)

    I see you, Harvey Dent.

Rudy - retired for health issue.

    JVG - http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2874873
up to you. But seeing that JVG did not coach after then, I say he retired.

    RA - contract ended.

I think Mchale is here to stay until the contract ends.:(

Thought this was going to be a thread about the collective lamentations of not pulling the trigger on Derek Harper or KJ

Premise of the thread is silly. Answers would have all said LeBron if the posters knew the injury future. TMAC and Yao had one more season of 60+ games in them, and it wasn't in the same season.

The offense was so bad because we had no players outside of TMAC and Yao. We had no decent PG at all. That is all on CD. You can't invent talent. Adelman reaped the rewards of Morey and couldn't deliver, with it totally falling apart after JVG's defense faded. Yao wasn't nearly as good early as he was late after working with Tom Thibodeau personally for years. By the time he started to really dominate he was injured.

So JVG had skinny Yao, no PG (Sura faints), no depth, but could learn to play defense.

People always point to Game 3 of the 2007 Jazz series where everyone not named TMAC and Yao scored a total of 17 points. 7 guys scored 17 points, no help. Double Yao, make him turn the ball over (8 times) and THEN blame JVG for the offense?
