good write up, Crazy to see how morey & team has done this. It is a very interesting analysis that gets in to the mind of how the FO works. This year you can definitely see a synergy between the FO and the coaching staff and this analysis gives more proof of it.

I just don't see how Greg Smith makes the team this year. What is the likelihood of being able to trade him for some far future 2nd round pick? It would be nice to be able to get at least something for the kid, as well as help put him on a team where he will be able to play and excel.

Fantastic piece. One of the many reasons this is by far the best site going. Thanks Bima.

Morey has done a remarkable job at landing top level talent, while still having so many ways to improve the team moving forward.

Can't wait for the season to begin, it should be a helluva ride.

I have seen a few posts that keep talking about how Greg Smith needs to be traded for 2nd round picks, etc. But actually, he was a better player last year than TJones or DMo. So until they show me on the court that they are better than he his, and not just the POTENTIAL to be better than Greg is, I don't see how we get rid of it. I don't know what he did over the summer to improve, but he is just as young and has just as much opportunity to improve in areas of his game as either DMo or TJones. Which one of those three worked the hardest and improved the most will be know in just a few short weeks though, so we will all see. I'm just not ready to completely write Greg Smith off just yet.

Great article Bima! Thanks for all of your hard work and contributions to Clutchfans! repped. 5 stars.

I could see Smith traded. I could see Smith start at PF.

I would be surprised if GSmith were cut. If there is no trade the 4 cuts will most likely be Henriquez, Young, Brooks, and one of Brewer/Williams. I would be very surprised if Brooks makes it out of training camp if there are no trades and no injuries to Lin/Bev/Canaan. And I would be very, very surprised if GSmith is cut.
