Noticing this quote, I wouldn't read too much into it. I would be surprised if the majority of teams didn't do this.
Every team has the same goal: win a championship. I am saying that it is nothing really special and not necessary to over analyze.
But what would be over analyzing it? I would say, for once, we should read a lot into it. It's finally a realisitic goal. Finally, they can scream it out and actually believe it themselves.
The difference is in attitude the team has towards the season. At this time last summer there were no misconceptions about them even competing for a championship much less winning it. This season they are absolutely one of the favorites to come out of the west. The team is approaching training camp with a goal of winning a championship. That is what the quote is all about and that is what should be read into it.
