Who cares? It is one guy's opinion in July.

Some people get too sensitive about these things.

I almost thought it was 7th of the west... but 7th of the NBA is quite good!

You think rankings done by 10000 Rockets fans would be more accurate? Doesn't matter if it's one guy, as long he's not biased and knows what he's doing.

I'd go with 3rd. We're better than the Spurs, Pacers, Clippers and definitely the Bulls. Typical media underselling Houston.

I think the Clippers and Bulls are too high and Rockets and Nets too low.

Point is we shouldn't make a thread for 1 guy's power rankings. If that were the case, we'd have 10 new threads about different power rankings every week.

We're not obviously better than any of those teams. With the exception of 96/97, the Spurs have come in 1st or 2nd their division every year since 1989. The Bulls were a very competent second round team playing without a league MVP all year. Their defense was better than our offense. And they play in the East, like the Pacers, who are solid solid solid. We SHOULD be better than them, but they may still have a better record and go farther in the playoffs. And the Clippers... eh, who knows. They won 11 more games than us last year and also on paper have improved.

Typical fans overselling their teams :p

I don't think Rockets are in top 4. No games were played with Howard on the roster, and he's not that big of an improvement over Asik. We still need a decent PG. Only difference is we added serious depth in C position, but so far that's about it. Not a definite west conf finalist, that's for sure

Yeah..... We still have to prove to everybody( including ourselves) that this can work.

Have to play games first and win to get ranked top 5. There are a lot of good teams out there

Sounds about right to me. We're so weak at the 4 that it's hard for me to lump us in with the elite.

I expected we'll in 5-7th place in NBA and it in July.
    nevertheless, it is still respectable.

May be next year, we will be in top 4!

7th is pretty good considering we don't have a PF. I feel that the Thunder should drop a couple of spots even though they still have Durant and Westbrook but now no 6th man really. The Clips I think should drop to about where the Rockets are. Pretty much a crap shoot at this point.

I have us sixth. It's hardly a snub for such an unknown commodity.
