For the past month or so we have been bombarded with Dwight Howard news (and threads:rolleyes:). The Rockets are also considering trading away promising young talent for him. There is even talk of gutting the youngest, most exciting team in the league to get both Howard and Paul.
It got me to thinking, why? Why destroy that chemistry when they really don't have to? There is another way.
Why not just pursue Bynum? He will give you pretty much the same results and cost millions less. Isn't that the Moreyball way? Even while he was injured, he was playing up to par with Howard. Even to the point where he was being called the best center in the league. Getting Bynum will not only make the team younger, but it also allows the team to stay intact.

    Get Bynum instead.

Andrew Bynum, a lesser human beloved by other lesser humans.

Why not get Yao Ming while we are at it?

Judging by the latest rumors, other teams involved are really trying to make it hard for us. Teams are looking to make counter moves every day. We may not have a choice.

Haha so glad we didn't trade for him. Wasn't there inside info we actually wanted him? Regardless, I see 0% chance of us going after this bum.

Who will most likely miss every game because of his bad knees. can't be second best of you never play. Are we just looking for a bench buddy for Lin? Both can sit on the bench and compare bruises.

He is always injured.... Look out or he will become a glorified Greg Oden
I don't wish it upon him but it can happen

Should mean enough to understand that we need to stay away.

Which injured Bynum are we talking about? Injured through playoff run in 2011-12 Bynum ... or the injured from bowling out all-season career may never get back on track Bynum?

DO NOT want to have to go through the same stuff with Yao again. lower limb issues on big men are not a good sign longterm.
