I just figured it out. We really haven't had that many great small forwards, aside from maybe Robert Reid and Rodney McCray, neither of which had all-star caliber seasons. Parsons is the first guy since Rudy-T to have a chance to be special at the 3 position. I don't count T-Mac or Clyde since they were mostly 2-Guards even though they could swing to the three. But if Parsons happens to make the All-Star team next year (who knows?) it'd have been 35 years since the last SF on the Rockets made it (Rudy T). This is just something I randomly tought about.

T-Mac played SF for a season. Not sure you can put Parsons ahead of Battier yet.

Rudy didn't really play small forward. He played Power Forward much of the time he was on the floor. He was a great shooter, so he did play away from the basket a lot. The Rockets used players like Ed Ratliff, Robert Reid, and Rick Barry at SF, while Rudy played Power Forward.

I love Parsons but he reminds me of Craig Ehlo. Glue guy who knows his role, can pour the points in when called upon and plays hard 100% of the time.
