South Korean Bong's first English language film. He's famous abroad for making The Host and Mother. Both incredibly different from one another. Definitely worth checking out.

Solid cast. Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Song Kang-ho, Alison Pill, Octavia Spencer and Ewen Bremner

Premise seems far-fetched and the trailer was horribly cut. But I like Chris Evans so will watch.

Maybe I should watch his Korean movies first but that looked pretty "meh"

This is exactly what I thought!

I was looking forward to this when I first saw some cool visual designs. But the trailer did a 90 degree turn of what I wanted from this movie so pretty much a disappointment.

The trailer looks pretty cliched but having seen the director's earlier work I'm optimistic about this one. And, any movie that has Kang-ho Song certainly deserves a look.

Had to watch this via torrentz, if it had a proper distribution like it suppose to, this would easily shot up at the top of my list of best films from last year.

I'm Korean and a huge fan of Bong Joon-ho's films, but for me, this one was the least successful of all his films. Despite it being longer than the usual feature, it still tried to fit too much into the story. (Would have loved to have seen it as a 13-episode cable series on HBO.) It has its moments and boasts an amazing cast, but did not add up to a cohesive movie experience overall.

Nevertheless, his mediocre film still blows most other movies out of the water, so I'd still recommend it. And for first-time Bong Joon-ho viewers, Memories of Murder or The Host will probably give you a better idea of what this director is capable of doing.

Yeah the guy is phenomenal, I actually liked this better than The Host. I thought the social commentary aspect worked really well and the characters were engaging enough for the story to move along like a locomotive. The action scenes, my god, the action was tense/grimy/dark and violent, I love it!

I agree. I just watched this film on Netflix and hadn't heard about it previously. In a way, without spoiling it, it reminded me of the Cube series. The acting in the film was phenomenal. The script trails off forward the end.

I just watched this since its on Netflix now. It was interesting but very weird. I'd say it was def worth a watch but it was hyped way too much of being this amazing movie and it was just okay to me.
