Man that sucks for him and the Nuggets. I was looking forward to seeing the Nuggets go deep in the playoffs since we're likely not facing them. Lawson is the one that makes that team go.
^ Yeah, wasn't Gasol out with a similar injury for about 6 weeks? He and the Denver offense is fun to watch; hopefully this doesn't become a problem down the road.
In reality, it's a lifetime injury. Plantar Fasciitis almost always comes with it, and that's something you manage rather than get rid of. It's why I wouldn't take Pau Gasol in any deal right now. He's never going to be the same guy again. Lawson's younger so I very much doubt this is a career killer....but someone that relies on explosive acceleration, speed, and leaping is going to be dogged by plantar issues. It'll affect him going forward.
He's done for the year. That sucks to see. I've dealt with plantar fasciitis and it was terrible. I can't imagine how bad a tear is.
Maybe, if they hold onto home court for the first round. Yeah, Miller is a great backup PG, probably the best in the league. So, my concern isn't the drop-off from Lawson to Miller. It is the next step down the staircase that now has a gaping hole.
Ty Lawson is the engine that makes the Nuggets go. In a playoff series, they aren't dangerous at all without him. He must be healthy and aggressive for them to advance past the 2nd round. He's the only indispensable player on their roster.
Miller's game is methodical. You know what you'll get out of him night in night out. Solid player nonetheless. Lawson was Denver's spark plug, he brought that team energy, speed, and flat out chaos that gets other teams in all kinds of trouble.
Geez that's sad. I'm not a big fan of the Nugg's but Lawson is a good player who's very exciting to watch.
Miller is averaging both 8.2 steals and 1.0 steals at the same time, reminds me of Starbury averaging 12-13 dimes and 2-3 assists: <object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zWxgbyYrT5A?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zWxgbyYrT5A?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> Directly to part: http://youtu.be/zWxgbyYrT5A?t=1m23s
That's because it's usually not treated, just contained. It just means the fascia in the area is tight. Something else in the body is causing it to be tight. Find that imbalance and you'll get rid of it.
Another PG and player out.. sigh... It always sucks to see these things happen, to see how human, how vulnerable even the most strongest, fastest, physcially fit human beings are.
