after reviewing some of the Rockets games this season, i am starting to think trading lin maybe a good option for both the rockets and lin himself.

Lin has to have the ball in his hand to play well. this is not the issue that he is not a good 3-pt shooter, but because lin need to control the ball to play with his instinct. lin has shown flashes of greatness when he simply abandons McFail's play book and played his way

while for the rockets, i think we are better off having a pg who is (a) a great 3pt shooter, (b) good one-to-one player (not ISO but good at creating his own shoot) and (c) more experienced

The problem is both backcourt players are very ball dominant and neither move well off the ball.

lol...really....the rockets have the higest scoring back court in the NBA and lets talk about how bad Lin is playing. Two games ago 12 points and 10 assists. Last game hit on 19 points and whatt 14 in the last quarter to get us back in the game? Thats pretty good....hes shooting over 50% from the field over the last month and averaging what 16 and 6..... and if the rockets had a big who could catch the
ball Lins assist numbers would be around 8 or 9.....hes fine and hes not going anywhere

I'm open to trading Lin or any other rocket not named James Harden. I'm sure Lin still has some trade value. He is asian, of course. Cities with a high asian demographic might want him. Sacramento, Los Angeles, Golden State, New York?

It is better for Lin to learn to play off the ball.

Any team that has Lin dominating the ball and being the #1 scorer isn't going anywhere except the lottery.

He can be a good #2-3 guy.

Lin is nearly approaching Aaron Brooks level of play.

Wow, this topic has never been discussed in the GARM before. Lin is better with the ball in his hands? Wow, what a fascinating revelation! I've never heard that argument before. In fact, because you brought so many new and interesting ideas in to a brand new thread, I bet we'll have a positive, well-reasoned discussion about the merits and downsides of Jeremy Lin, like we have in other threads on this forum.

Being ball dominant doesnt necessarily mean #1 scorer.

Lin is not going anywhere unless we trade for an all star point guard (rare) or a team insists on Lin in a trade (not likely).

Lin is fine on the Rockets. He is a decent defender, with good size, a good finisher, hustles well and if his 3 point shot improves, will be a borderline all star type player (18/8 type).

The Rockets need a second all star and a power forward that has a pulse.

you're asking for a rare commodity that cannot be simply obtain from a trade when you ask for a pg with those attributes. So basically you're asking for trade for CP3 with those desired traits.

Set your expectation right mate, 18/8 is allstar number as a PG.

No, Lin will most likely never average that kind of numbers.
