Check this scenario out: On the road to and from town, a magic hangman stops every person and asks why they are on the road. If they lie, he hangs them dead, and if they tell the truth, they are free to continue on. A man approaches the hangman and the hangman asks him, "Why are you travelling this road?" The man replies, "I'm here for you to hang me." What does the hangman do? If he hangs the man, the man was being truthful, meaning he shouldn't be hanged. If he lets him go, it will mean the man was lying, which means he should be hanged. Anyone know any similar? any questions beyond comprehension?
That part of the statement is incorrect. The truth of the traveler's comment is not dependent on the actions of the hangman.
The real question should be who is this psychotic man hanging all these people for no reason other than he is nosy.
Not being hanged does not mean you were not there to be hanged, therefore he wouldn't be lying. For example, I go to a casino to win money. Whether or not I win does not change my reason for going.
Lets say the traveler was there to not be hung and just said 'I'm here to be hung'. The hangman then hangs him for lying. The hangman hanging him doesn't change the fact that the traveler was there not to be hung. Lets say the traveler was there to be hung and said 'I'm here to be hung'. The hangman then lets him go. The hangman letting him go doesn't change the fact that the traveler was there to be hung. exactly a better question might be; what does the magician do if someone tells him to **** off?
the man did not reply, "I' am here for you to hang me dead" so the hangman can hang him then let him off while eliving

The hangman's actions depend entirely on the truthfulness of the traveler. If the traveler tells the truth, he continues on. If he lies, he dies. In this case, the traveler told the truth so he should continue on.
The guy tells the truth, he wants to be hung by the hangman. Good for that guy, but if he really wanted to be hung, he should of lied and said to buy eggs. Since he told the truth the Hangman will let him continue walking. Hangman has no obligation to hang the guy. If the man has intentions of being hung by the hangman, then the man will walk. simple as that. If the guy wants to be hung, he needs to lie to the hangman, this will trigger the hangman to hang the man. The End ?
This is why I hated philosophy in college. Bunch of bozos sitting around camp fires playing pee-pee games instead of worrying about real life.
This is why I hate threads threads where Ziggy replies. A guy sitting around a web forum using words like pee-pee games instead of worrying about real English.
I hate it also...It's a waste of time to me. I remembered a philosophy teacher asking a good question, "If God can do EVERYTHING, can he create a rock so heavy that even he cannot pick up"?
