The phrase 'committed a physical act' in the official violation report sounds quite odd.
Come to think of it, the word 'act' is short for 'action' but can be misread as fake 'acting' too, hehe.

Check out the vids. Sloan's 'physical act' is particularly funny.

Minnesota's Barea Receives Flopping Warning

With 10.04 remaining in the fourth period of the Minnesota vs. Sacramento game (Nov. 2) JJ Barea of the Timberwolves committed a physical act that was a flop under the League's rule on Flopping. He has received a warning in regards to this violation of the League's rule on Flopping.

Cleveland's Sloan Receives Flopping Warning
With 5.58 remaining in the fourth period of Cleveland's game vs. Chicago (Nov. 2), Donald Sloan of the Cavaliers committed a physical act that was a flop under the League's rule on Flopping. He has received a warning in regards to this violation.

To be fair, Sloan does look like he tripped off the screener's foot, though the rest of it was kind of selling it.

Darius Morris had a pretty egregious one yesterday in the Lakers/Pistons game.

Accidently hit reply..

But anyway, I'm very happy to see the NBA actually following through with this (so far).

Barea is a great high energy talent but he is also a notorious flopper.

Keep em coming, league!

More flops for the Flop God!

I actually didn't consider either of those worthy of a warning.

Barea didn't fall down. He just moved his head back to avoid being hit which seems reasonable to me. If he told the referees that he got hit in the face then at least you can say he was lying.

In the second one, Sloan did get tripped. The fact that he sold it a little still doesn't seem egregious to me.

yeah, the embarrassment of your violation being posted on nba.com is probably more preventative than the actual fine. I didn't expect them to post the videos. I like it.

Players shouldn't act or try to sell anything. Just play ball.

Umm noo.. Both are flops and I'm glad the nba is fining these fools. Both guys tried to embellish the contact to get a call. You don't see that in pick up games. You just play ball. Finally the league actually doing something positive.

Grif should get fined enough to support a decent sized town.

Until a superstar like Lebron is fined for flopping, I am skeptical that the rule is being equally applied. Right now I think they are just singling out mid and low tier players to make an example of them for everyone else.

Or the NBA warned the superstars that they would post their vids on nba.com, and the smart ones have stopped doing it...leaving on the mid and low tier players who need to flop to make a living.

That's just wishful thinking on my part, though.
