Hi All just a poll and also my reasons why these 3 players are candidates (I'm really clutching at straws with PP and can't imagine any voted for him, but thought I'd give more poll options.

James Harden
Why he'll be the leader:
- Most talented player on our roster
- The only Rockets player with bonifide playoff experience
- Has played with leaders and has learnt a thing or two from them to become one himself.
Why he won't be the leader:
- He's the newest Rocket
- Has not had training camp with our current roster and does not know the team well as other leader candidates

Jeremy Lin
Why he'll be the leader:
- Has shown that he can lead a group of young guys (even if only for a small stretch of games).
- Has already taken up a leadership role at training camp
- He is our starting PG and primary ballhandler.
Why he won't be the leader:
- Not as talented as Harden
- Not proven over a long period of time
- Concerns that he can't play as he did in the Linsanity run

Patrick Patterson
Why he'll be the leader:
- Longest serving rocket
- Has already gone on the record to say he wants to lead this young group
Why he won't be the leader:
- Not as talented anyone else on this list
- May not even be in the starting lineup throughout the season

Other
If you voted other, please list who and why?

Harden.

Not only does he have the hardware/credentials (Olympic Gold, 6th Man, trip to Finals), but he seems to be well-respected around the league, with only 3 years experience. The others guys will feed off of his energy and look to him to be the go-to weapon offensively.

I would say James Harden because he has to the NBA finals that's experience while Lin hasn't even played in the playoffs but that doesn't mean Lin will suck they both will have good season

ALL HARDEN DOES IS LIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I voted Lin and I don't mean leader as in the best player but I think he is a very good teammate but Harden will step into his leadership role in a few months when he is more comfortable around the team.

Harden is too quiet to be the leader. He's almost T-Mac like in quietness.

Parsons now, Lin later.

For those who claim that Jeremy Lin is not a superstar: in the games where Lin was the primary option on his team, he has averaged 24 points and 9 assists per game, and his teams have gone 10-4.

I'm leaning towards Delfino just because of his experience.

We're too young of a team right now to have a clear-cut leader unless Harden develops into a superstar in my opinion.

Parsons is the handsomest. They can't help but follow his lead. Homo.

Parsons reaches out to every new teammate the second that he can. He's at every event for the Rockets and probably is one of the most likable guys in the league already going into his second year. He will have a great year with names like Lin and Harden getting more attention. Parsons will be the vocal leader if anything, and I think he was starting to be that for the team at the end of last year.

That's what they said about Duncan and Durant, too.

Not saying he's in their class, but he's only 23 and is just coming into his own as one of the top SGs in the NBA. He's more than capable of leading this young team by example.

Best player doesn't always mean they're the leader of the team. Harden may be the most talented than the other guys by far, but he doesn't seem like the leader type. Then again he's been playing with Durant and Westbrook.

Harden, no question. The highest paid player, a full max contract guy no less, is going to be the leader, #1 option, closer, go to guy, whatever you call it. The player himself, the management and the coaching staff will make sure of this.

Overall Leader = Parsons.
