Just wanted to point out that this is the 5th time Morri has traded for a 2009 lotto draft pick! Hasheem, Flynn, T-Will , Jordan Hill and now James Harden

But this one feels different for some reason don't know why:)

That checklist makes me feel a lot better about never investing myself in the draft. I'm sure millions of people wasted hours watching Thabeet, Flynn and Williams. The last 3 drafted players weren't great either but at least still exist in the general consciousness. Morey has definitely whiffed on some weak lottery talent, excluding Harden who was well established. I still like the gambles.

Yep, outside of a few of the top guys, a large part of the draft is a crap shoot. You never know how well guys will adjust to the NBA.

On a side note, anyone find it interesting how all those players we either drafted or traded for from that draft is almost designed position wise to build a rotation?

    Hill/Thabeet
    Budinger
    Williams
    Harden/Jermaine Taylor*
    Flynn/Llull

*- What ever happened to this guy? Did he ever actually play?

Do the Rockets/Morey hold the record for most players from one draft that have played or been under contract for one team?

Thabeet, Harden, Flynn, Hill, Casspi, Carroll, Douglas, Taylor, Llul, Beverley, Budinger.

Edit: da juice beat me on calling out Morey's fascination with all things 2009 draft.
