First to 4 votes wins! Anyone is welcome to vote, but please break it down. You can use this scheme: Frontcourt (who has better SF-PF-C) Backcourt (who has better guard combo) Bench Offense Defense Chemistry (which team's players fit on the court better) Or just give main reasons why you think one team will win. If there's no explanation, the vote won't count. BigMaloe PG - Kyrie Irving SG - James Harden SF - Gerald Wallace PF - Kevin Love C - Javale McGee Bench G - Goran Dragic F - Metta World Peace C - Kosta Koufos vs. Oelman PG: Kyle Lowry SG: Russel Westbrook SF: Rudy Gay PF: Blake Griffin C: Tim Duncan Bench: Darren Collison Shane Battier Nikola Pekovic
Frontcourt - Oelman Backcourt - Oelman Bench - BigMaloe Offense - BigMaloe Defense - BigMaloe Chemistry - BigMaloe I see far better chemistry in BigMaloe's team while oelman's team is filled with 4 ball dominant guys(possibly 5, but duncan can play role player). You really don't know where the offense will start, with no roleplayers in the starting 5, makes it an all-star lineup with no direction and also with 2 point guards playing at the same time. I know Westbrook plays 2 very well, but we all know how effective he is when he's playing the point. gotta go with BigMaloe
FC: Oleman Timmy, BG, and Rudy Gay is a crazy good FC. Both are very good FCs but I think McGee is just the odd man out here. BC: Oleman Westbrook! He is the difference here. I think Irving>Lowry but Westbrook>>Harden. Westbrook is a BIG REASON why OKC got to the finals. Harden helped out, but wasnt nearly as big a part as KD or Westbrook Bench: Oleman Very Solid bench. Pekovic is the difference. Offense: Oleman Westbrook was 5th in the league in scoring. Gay is an offensive minded SF, Griffin is an almost guaranteed 20 with highlight oops, and Timmy brings back Oldschool bank shots. Lowry will do a great job of running this team. Defense: BigMaloe Wallace and McGee are crazy good defensively. Chemistry: BigMaloe Team is put together very well. SG will take most of the shots, PG can distribute well, SF is a glue guy. Stretch/high post PF and finally a down low/alley ooping Center. Winner: Oleman
Frontcourt - Oelman. Love is considerably better than Blake atm, but Gay was far better than Wallace last year. Duncan over McGee. Backcourt - BigMaloe. BigMaloe's backcourt is better offensively, Oelman's better defensively. Oelman has the best player, BigMaloe has size advantage. I like the idea of two very good playmakers (Irving/Harden) who can both play off the ball/shoot, even if there isn't much defense. Bench - Oelman. Dragic is much better, smarter than DC. But Pekovic played like a marginal All Star last year and should be starting for one of these 13 teams. Offense - BigMaloe. Close. Oelman has a lot of physical power up front with his Duncan/Blake/Pek rotation. Blake and Duncan both elite passers, both can do a lot of things. Spacing is good, not great, especially for a team with such post scorers. Gay isn't a volume 3pt shooter, and I wouldn't want Westbrook shooting a ton of 3s, which leaves Lowry. There's a lot of 2pt jumpshots, though, so it's not bad. BigMaloe has a bit less offensive talent imo, but I like how his team fits offensively a bit better. He has a ton of spacing, transition will be great too (great smart guards, McGee running, Love outlets), penetration by guards in halfcourt. Both teams will fight hard for rebounds / 2nd opportunities. Defense. close. neither team is a defensive powerhouse. Oelman's backcourt is way better defensively but he has size disadvantage. Oelman's 3-4-5 looks worse (on D). Benches are comparable, probably a slight advantage to Oelman. I'll say even. Chemistry. BigMaloe, I don't see any chemistry issues on that team, everyone fits well and complements each other better. I'll say BigMaloe overall, all those shooters with size will be hard to stop, and they open up a lot of space for guards / McGee /Wallace get to the rim. Neither team will stop the other, but Maloe's offense will run smoother.
Imma give it to BigM because Oelman's team is filled with guys that demand the ball and wouldn't play well as a unit in my opinion. Lowry, Westbrook, Gay and Griffin? Ughh. Could also provide chemistry issues and everybody demanding the ball in clutch situations. BigM's unit is well thought out and provides the right mix between offense&defense, no chemistry issues and passing should be good.
