The taliban are some of the most inhumane, hypocritical ass holes. It is not what they do to non muslims, but what they do to typical every day muslims. If anyone things the taliban represents the country or the people, you need to get out of your damn chair and off the news and go there and see how the people live in fear. They are poor as a population, war torn, and the taliban has all the guns, power, and aggression. Sadly against the russians we supported these extremist type fighters and gave them weapons to fight communism, those crazy ass hole came back to bite us and the whoel country of their own.

And the IDF, go see how ruthless they are with women and children. No they aren't killing them for being women or anything, they are killing them just because they are around people they are fighting with no disregard. I was told an argument when I was there that what would you do if your neighbors were throwing rockets at you, you have to defedn yourself and fight back. I agree, but they have to realize its not the 'neighbor' that is attacking you, its some extremist on the saide, and among them are people who have lived their for generations, women children, etc. They don't have medical rights, go to school, basically no chance to ascend or do anything. They don't have money to relocate, that is their home. Then imagine you have nothing to do with the fighting, just around, like the women and children who were bombed, kicekd out, and at worst just go see the sulfur.

Now, anyone who is trying to make an argument about of white sulfur is worse than beheading, well you are deranged yourself. These are two evils on both sides. There are not 'better' parties in this.

The major difference is the indoctrination of hatred from the Quranic scriptures that instructs people who follow Islam to hate, kill and not associate with Jews or Christians.

People ( usually the lefty tree hugger P.C. brigade) will always grab old testament scriptures to try and justify, or balance out the Islamic war verses.

But this is a moot point, because while some Old Testament verses called for the destruction of certain 'enemies' of God, it was a one off command. ( and there were specific reasons of which I don't have the time to get into right now)

The Islamic call to kill Jews and Christians is a standing order from Mohummad, the reason being only the Jews and Christians were able to confirm or deny the claim of Prophethood by Mohummad, as they were people of the book and where all of the previous prophets had emerged.

When the Jews of Arabia refused to recognise his claim of being a prophet of God, and then ridiculed Mohummad for his errant retelling of Old Testament stories, and lack of knowledge regarding the Taurat and history, the so called 'prophet' had two choices:
1. Admit he wasn't a 'prophet' of The God of Abraham and go back to mecca with his tail between his legs
Or
2. Eliminate the only ones who could prove through the scriptures that he wasn't a prophet of The God of Abraham.

He chose the later.

All the nice peaceful verses in the Quran were abrogated and replaced by the call to kill.

Actually its the other way around, had a really interesting conversation with a jewish islamic scholar(yea, he chose to study it while still be a practicing jew just out of intrigue) and he was just telling me about the different influences in culture and regional and in the vereses how there are things specificially those that are talking about the war time and context of that and even names the specific wars. So it has general principles and teachings where it calls jews and christians brothers, killing one innocent is like killing all, and that every people has their own right and path to god. Adn that is the general theme, and hten it goes to specific wars and times and t he context where it goes on some of the more disturbing things. Of course the extremists will use what they want and cherry pick, but doesn't mean we should legitimize their beliefs as a true islam and throw the rest of them under the bus in my opinion.
And yes similarly in the bible of course the theme is peaceful and about self righteousness as in the quran, as you mentioned especiall in the OT there are al ot of verses about stone your own family if they don't accept god, etc.
