Uhmm...i don't think Yao is on the Houston payroll as an employee. Where do people get this stuff? Lin also said at his press conference that the only communication he and Yao had were congratulatory texts, and that they'd communicate more about the city of Houston once Lin got settled. The asian market thing is overblown.
