If injuries aren't an issue, and you could assemble your own 12 man roster, who would you pick?

Mine would look like this:

PG: Paul, Williams
SG: Allen, Wade, Kobe
SF: Korver, James, Durant
PF: Bosh, Garnett
C: Howard, Chandler

Here is my reasoning:

I think this team is the perfect mix of players. One thing about international basketball is that the rules promote outside shooting. This is where USA often gets into trouble.

But with this team, you have some pure shooters like Allen and Korver, and also Durant (who can do more than just shoot the 3).

This team has big, defensive centers like Howard and Chandler that can match-up against some of the bigger teams, and prevent inside scoring and rebounding.

A PF like Garnett is also good because he has great defense. He has the most NBA all-defensive first-team selections in NBA history.

You then have your pure scorers and all-around go-to players like Kobe, LeBron, Wade, and Durant. And those guys (except for Durant), are all fantastic defensive players.

So to summarize, this team will be big down low, fast, athletic, and great on defense, and has specialists in all areas. They can pass, rebound, defend, block shots, create steals/turnovers, shoot the 3, drive to the basket, and score. They could do it all.

A lot of those guys don't want to play for Team USA anymore, and James and Durant have to be the starting forwards. That is all.

It could make sense to put some role players in there since most of the team USA players need the ball in their hands to contribute, but there's no way you don't start both LeBron and Durant.

Korver cant even start on his team there is no way he belongs within 5000 miles of the Olympic team, him starting over Durant and Lebron is a complete joke, he is not even a better 3 point shooter than Durant, and he is no where near as good as him as anything else.

Kyrie, Steph Curry, John Wall
Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans
Durant, Rudy Gay
Love, Anthony Davis
Bynum, Demarcus Cousins, Andre Drummond

I believe this team is all under 23 like Lord Stern demanded and could probably win the gold with KD being the man.

I like this accept for the part where Davis is actually a Center, so that makes 4 centers on one team. Other than that I think this would be a fun and awesome team, and could WIN too.

And the reason I didn't put it in order is because there are so many scorers and shooters that the lineup can be fooled around with in so many ways.

PG: Rondo, Curry
SG: Wade, Gordan
SF: Durant, Gay
PF: Lebron, Love
C: Howard, Bynum

Imo, this team would have great chemistry and a well rounded offense. At point gaurd you have two very different gaurds, one a slasher and the other a tremendous shooter, while both are unselfish players.

At shooting gaurd you have two athletic 2's, who are good defenders and shooters.

At the SF position, you have one of the purest scorers in the league and an athletic, defensive minded player who can also score in Gay.

Lebron, K-Love, Howard and Bynum don't need much description.

And yes, I purposely left out Kobe and Carmelo. I think the team would benefit most without their need for the ball, despite their undeniable talent.
