Everyone who could have fulfilled that role last season (Scola, Lowry, Dragic, Camby) are gone. Kevin Martin is the veteran on the team but he's not known for his leadership qualities. Chandler Parsons is the incumbent best player on the team, and he's shown some leadership traits. Patrick Patterson is another tenured Rocket, but he's more of the strong silent type. Rookies are not usually considered for captaincy, so I don't believe it will be the likes of Lamb and White despite their apparent maturity for their age. Morey mentioned in that TrueHoop interview that they see Lin as a leader for this young group, so maybe Lin will be the captain.

How can Jeremy Lin produce like he did during Linsanity if he's not being used the same way that he was being used during Linsanity?

For those who claim that Jeremy Lin is not a superstar: in the games where Lin was the primary option on his team, he has averaged 24 points and 9 assists per game, and his teams have gone 10-4.

Parsons, he's been embracing that role anyways and he really reps the rockets well.

We typically have more than 1 captain. Poll should have multiple options so I can choose Martin (if he stays), Lin, and Parsons

It has to be Parsons, and I think that puts perspective on how young and in flux we are. I'd much rather a seasoned vet be the voice of leadership.

You word it as if you know Patterson - none of us know the personalities of the team. For all we know Patterson is a leader.

Looks like Parsons will get it, but im not crazy about anyone on this team having that title...we're going to need a Marcus Camby-like pick up....

Agreed. Come to think of it, Parsons might not be the captain, becuase it's not like anybody on the team has played with him before. None of the players really know each other, so I don't think it's that crazy for Lin to be voted Captain right away.
