How do we limit fairly new members "Unnecessary Threads"?

    I am absolutely not trying to create more work for Clutch and the mods but this is getting uber ridiculous. I mean it seems like the newer posters 2010+ just feel if they have an opinion about something it deserves its own thread... kinda like this one! :grin:

    No but in all seriousness, is there a simple way to limit the unnecessary/redundant type of threads created, especially in the garm?

    It's getting rather annoying and I know the mods are having no fun either merging or locking up as many threads as they've had to, in this roller coaster of an off-season we've had, so far.

    Can anything be done to resolve this?

    I think auto lock for new threads containing 'Howard' in GARM is in order.

    also auto lock threads containing "Jeremy Lin" in the thread, or auto lock threads in the GARM with usernames related to Jeremy Lin.

    I remember when I joined the site, I started out as a Rookie for a few weeks before I was promoted to Member and allowed to start threads.
