Seems like kind of a bad move. Two steps back and then a fadeaway?

Amazing dunk on the second vid. So effortless.

Only thing that is stopping Blake from being great is his post moves. Once he gets those inline the league better watchout!

He needs to learn how to shoot a face up jumper from 17.......but the step back and all that is pointless in my opinion. What he should need be doing is going to Olajuwon's camp and learning a back to the basket game or at the very least some basic post moves within 5 feet.

Well, how many times did Hakeem shoot that turnaround fadaway falling out of bounds. That might have been the worst shot in the history of the nba, and Hakeem made it on a regular basis.

Pointless.

Simply because he struggles to hit a mid range jumper so how is he going to hit a step back one? Teams will give him that all day long.

it works for melo. he's a great shooter and a great overall scorer. it's not something blake should be considering.

A couple more 1-on-1 practice time with Melo and Blake will be taught, "run towards enemy, hesitate, slap face... step back, step back, step back, step back, step back, step back...etc."

Duh he doesn't have it now. That's the point isn't it? A step back is a great weapon to have, especially when defenders must respect Blake's option to drive.

Creates seperation. Melo did it more than a few times in the playoffs, effectively. The hardest part about that move is still maintaining your balance on the fadeaway shot.

when you get comfortable with shootng the step back..it comes so easy to you.

the double step back does not feel much different than a single step back when you go up with it..it just helps create even more space.

Basketball fundamentals. How is he in the N.B.A with a $95 million extension and not know how to step back to get a shot off? Maybe I should apply to train N.B.A players with max contracts

I think that was Melo's point. Learn how to make that shot and you will always have it, since guys will always give you space so you don't blow by them.
