With Bayless. The grizzlies have some real depth at every position.

Bayless and Wroten jr are going to be game changers off the bench with speed and quickness. Then the grizzlies quietly added: Darrell Arthur, Spieghts added to a bench with Cunningham and Ponxter (both defenseive specialists at the 2 and 3/4)

The grizzlies are coming out of the west this year with this team, there is no doubt.

Wroten will be a non-factor. Cunningham and Pondexter are your average role players. Bayless is an upgrade from what you guys had at backup PG, but he's not anything to get excited about.

The Arthur deal was nice though. The Speights deal was fine, too.

Still don't see the Grizzlies going past the second round. Gay simply doesn't fit next to Gasol and Ranldolph.

I see Wroten to have a similar season as Eric Bledsoe. The only reason he dropped in the draft was because he can't shoot from the outside, but his passing, defense and ability to drive the lane, and athletic ability are all elite.

I like their team just fine, but they are serving salisbury steak in a league dominated by prime rib. You can sprinkle some fried onions on top and put it on a white tablecloth if you want, but it's still a salisbury steak.

And I don't blame them for it -- small market, f'ed up league, etc.

They did though. Speights apparently signed a two year deal for $7-8M. Arthur a 3 year deal for $9-10M IIRC. Either trust me or google it.

Speights getting half of what Asik is getting really amazes me. Younger, can actually play offensively.

I'll admit that shocks me. On the other hand, Speights.... isn't that bright. At all. And he's been around the league longer.

Still, it's basically the same team as last year, only Mayo is replaced by Bayless. Of course, when Gay becomes the next KD, I guess they'll come out of the West

The grizzlies got 3 quality players (really 6 if you include cunningham, pondexter and allen) for around 18 million. Around 3 million a player.
