In our podcast last week, we wondered whether Scott Machado coming to Houston was an indication that Kyle Lowry was going to be traded (podcast, 25:30 mark) -- of course he was eventually traded, but we did the podcast before that and before Goran walked.
So today when I met him, it was my first question -- why did you choose Houston, a team trying to re-sign Dragic and having Lowry under contract, when you had several teams coming after you?
He indicated he knew Kyle Lowry was gone.
I've heard Machado has looked pretty good so far. His team was up big in scrimmage action today (don't be deceived by the "buzzer beater" shot that won the scrimmage... they changed the score with three minutes left to be a one-point game just to observe how they all played in that situation).
Also, the reporter also talking to Scott in the video is MK Bower of Fox Sports. He wrote a very good story on Machado and Motiejunas today -- worth reading.
[CBS] It's hard to say what could really get Howard back in the good graces of the public eye other than winning. The Rockets probably have to make at least the second round this season and he needs to be the best player on the team.
