We are rebuilding the way we should have been. I won't be surprised if Scola if traded within the next week. I can see us keeping Martin till the trade deadline because of his expiring.
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen Rockets had talks with Toronto heading into the draft. Pick is part of a package, but deal represents major change of direction.
But if we do get Asik and Lin, doesn't that defeat the purpose of all this? Or are they part of our future too....
They're in their early 20's. You keep both. You have to be bad to get good, but you don't have to be as bad as humanly possible, you just have to be a game worse than the next guy. Being epically historically bad doesn't win you any special prizes. To see somebody who doesn't understand this, see Bobcats, Charlotte and Jordan, Michael.
Morey was not intentionally tanking at the start of free-angency Its just that no agent or player wants to deal with him, so he struck out
No, I WISH we were tanking, but DM's genius self is going into liquidation mode because like a chicken with it's head cut-off. It's like he's making moves, just to make moves. This is worst then tanking. This is losing all our talent and instilling false hope. Game Over.
"You're either rebuilding for something special, or you're on the verge of something special. To be in between is foolish."-Billy Beane.
They hyped up a trade possibility for Dwight, then a move up the draft, now have failed to sign their free agent targets. It's a PR disaster. No other option. Does it save Morey's job or do the Rockets need to raze it all down?
It's worse than tanking/rebuilding becuase instead of trading veterans to go with young playrs, we are trading veterans to go with young players? You're going to have to explain.
Well, I still don't know what Houston is getting for Lowry to be able to answer this. Adrian Wojnarowski is now reporting that the Rockets and Raptors are working on something "innovative". I have no idea what the heck that means.
Maybe, maybe not. But what does it even matter how this happened? Rebuilding appears to be our direction now so I'm happy. Les wants to stay competitive. Morie would rather go young and rebuild through the draft. Maybe this is Murray's way of saying "screw you Les, we're rebuilding." For all we know Moray purposefully low-balled every team in prospective deals knowing we wouldn't get one done. It looks as though he's trying to trade but his plan may of been to blow it all up and start fresh. This is just speculation of course but hey, that's what the thread is for. I for one support the Rockets regardless of who graces the court at TC next season.
Morey finally tanks, while bringing in Jeremy Lin to give Les a cash cow to get us through the next few suck years. GENIUS!
It makes sense. Keeps the Rockets in the headlines, despite sucking butt. The Tim Tebow effect, as it were.
