Centers are hard to come by. This has to mean the Howard thoughts are done. Asik would be an expensive back up.

Sounds about right. Kwame Brown made 7 million last year which is obviously overpaying for him, but 8 million for Asik is fair market value. Center is the most expensive position relative to selection available.

It's really hard find a a good center on these days, but come on people! Asik will not do much better than Sammy for example.

All centers are overpaid in a sense of overall talent, however for the role they play, that is very reasonable for Asik's services.

I don't know. If he shows up to play every night then he's already got an edge on Dalembert. As others have stated and will continue to point out big men het paid big. Can't compare Ariza to Asik.

when did the team play its best? when camby was without the back issues.
If maury's IBM 3000 tells him that Asik's defense and rebounding will hold up for 30 + minutes as a starter...then 8 mill seems pretty low. He will be providing you with what camby gave and asik is only what 25?
If you can also get camby for 3 mil to back up, now you are solid at the center position for 48 minutes or until coach decides to insert parsons at center during the 4th quarter. Straight up mauryball
