Friend of mine from highschool is an nba scout and heard today that Rockets are also targeting Bynum as a back up plan with dwights desire to not go to houston. Lakers are worried to give up bynum but that leaves themwith them only receiving Dwight. Thinning out an aging team and gaining salary.

Dont know how credible his sources
are but if Rockets trade for 5th and 8th while giving up lowry 14 and 16 + dalembert. We lower the payroll even more so if we get the 18th for kmart.

Rockets out- 5th, 8th, 18th marcus morris SCola
In- bynum blake gasol

Lakers out- Bynum, gasol blake
In- 18th scola and dwight

Magic- dwight
in- 5th 8th and marcus morris.

Leaves us with enough money to go after some FA (KG/ RAY ALLEN/ gerald wallace)
My favorite would be to get gerald wallace to improve what would be a dominant defenaive team. Then may even have money for allen. Cant aee him maoing more than 5 million.

Dragic/ blake
Lee/ allen
Gerald wallace/ parsons
Gasol/ patterson/ dmo
bynum/ camby/dmo

Very feasible to get ray ray on the cheap. And gerald shouldnt make more than 10 mill. Maybe 3 yr 28 mill?

Thats my dream team that isnt too far fetched. What yall think?

Bro ive been on here for like 7 years and hold rockets season tickets. Im not going to bs you. It makes since... lakers cut salary and get a slight downgrade but an 18th pick in this draft could land a good pg in this draft. By them trading for dwight they would probablu give up bynum plus 2 future firsts. This way they save money with scola. Get a draft pick and improve at center. And magic is in rebuild mode.. i think they would prefer 2 top 10 picls and a highly talented sf. Camby dwight gasol is best class of bigs in the whole league. Plus having lee wallace and parsons to guard lebron kobe wade etc.

I would wet my pants like 11 times a day

Two top 10 picks n a guy who was close to top 10 last year... even if we throw dmo/future first. Drummond and waiters, marcus morris and dmo? That is a fair trade imo. If im orlando i take this over bynum n a future first. They are a few years away from contention especially with turks contract

Math doesn't work. If the Rockets take on BOTH Gasol AND Bynum's salary, while trading away Martin, Lowry, Scola, Dalembert, Morris and their draft picks, they would not have any meaningful cap room.

Still
Dragic/blake
Lee/ ?
Parsons/ ?
Gasol
Bynum

Is better than

Dragic
Lee
parsons
Scola
Bynum

A core that equals those of elite teams

Not with the cap holds of Lee and Dragic, which must be maintained if you hope to sign them back or the actual salary that you have to pay these two.

In any case, with the cap holds the Rockets will be $6.9 million under the projected cap with 9 players. Adding roster charges for 3 empty spots and the "cap room" is around $5.5 million, which is barely above what the MLE is. Thus, the cap room is meaningless.

meant dwight not bynum in 2nd scenario. And gasol would be happy to join if he had bynum coming with

basically Orlando getting picks, don't see it happening. If they are giving up Dwight they want a sure thing I'm pretty sure.

With turks contract this team has a few years til true contention. Maybe lakers and us give future firsts. They need to blow up the team and rebuild.

The Rockets cant give future firsts as they owe NJ a pick and the Dallas pick is protected.

What I've been saying. 3 way for freaking Bynum. We need to be the houston facilitators and somehow get us bynum in a Hou-LA-Orl deal, then somehow facilitate Gasol out of LA to a team like Minny and get expirings and picks.

This is an interesting random trade idea. Shouldn't it be in that thread? Or is it special somehow over the others?
