Okay, clutch crew....

I've seen all these draft pick threads up and down and around this joint on rumors about workouts and individual players, etc., but I'm just curious to know what YOU think the ideal moves for the Rox should be, come draft night.

Just let us know what you would like to see and why.

Me?

What I want to see is D. Morey work his magic, but also to do it in a manner in which we lose little to nothing in the process.

If we have to move a player or two to move up, so be it.

What I want to see is Morey find a way to accommodate Lowry by getting him out of here along with a pick (preferably 16) to move up.

If u have to add PPat to that to make it happen, do it!

Hopefully we can move up high enough to get Drummond. And with 14 take Perry Jones or Rivers.

Both Drummond and Jones are athletic and 6'11 and one thing this team has lacked for the longest is height.

They have their issues, but both are home run swings, and at this point, considering our previous "play it safe, good, but not great picks", we need to say eff it and swing for the fence, balls out! (pause)

To have drum and jones on this squad, we would be sitting nicely with young big players with upside, and we can go ahead and shop Luis and/or Daly, bring Monte over, develop all and have a potential of 3 6'11 and up players on the court at once to combat bigger teams when they try to strategize against us with height.

Go small and quick? Good luck gettin that shot off.

That said, If Rivers is there at 14, oh man....take him and keep it movin!

You won in this draft if that happens, DM!!!!!!

Anyway...that's what I hope to see.

Well...that and new uni's, but that's for another post....

What y'all hoping for?

1st Option - Large Trade

I want to see a mighty big trade with Orlando for Dwight Howard.

Kyle Lowry / Kevin Martin / Samuel Dalembert / Patrick Patterson / #14 / #16

for

Dwight Howard / Jason Richardson / Chris Duhon

Resign Dragic, Lee & Camby and in the off chance bring over Deron Williams

Sign Ish Smith

Lineup:
PG: Dragic (or Williams) / Duhon / Smith
SG: Lee / Richardson
SF: Parsons / Budinger / Morris
PF: Scola / Montiejunas
C: Howard / Camby / Smith

That is a title contender right there!!!

2nd option - Trade for High Draft Pick & Swing for the Fences

Trade Lowry & #16 to Sacramento or Portland for #5/#6 and draft Drummond.

Draft Perry Jones or Terrance Ross at #14

Resign Dragic, Lee & Camby

Sign Ish Smith

Lineup:
PG: Dragic / Smith
SG: Lee / Martin / (Ross)
SF: Parsons / Morris / Budinger / (Jones)
PF: Scola / Patterson / Montiejunas
C: Drummond / Camby / Smith

Then potentially later in the season you can upgrade with 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 type trades.
A good mix of potential plus veterans to help mentor the rookies.

3rd Option - Trade and Stash

Trade #16 to Boston for #22 & #23

Trade #22 to the Brooklyn Nets for the obligation to our draft pick back (giving us a pick in the future)

Draft Zeller @ #14

Draft Melo at #23

Resign Dragic, Lee & Camby

Lineup:
PG: Dragic / Lowry
SG: Lee / Martin
SF: Parsons / Morris / Budinger
PF: Scola / Patterson / Montiejunas
C: Zeller / Camby / Melo

Gives us some options at the 5 and flexibility for trades down the line with our 2013 pick back in play. Still have a severe backlog of players that we will have to do something with but gives us HEAPs of 'assets' to use by the trade deadline.

Thoughts?

Stern comes to stage in tears and starts shouting "I have wronged the Rockets therefor I declare Houston now has the number 1 & 2 pick of the draft".

forgot to include Dalembert in #2 and #3. He can be traded for scraps or bought out, we don't want him....

I want Davis to fall to #14.

OK, seriously; I want a 6-11 or taller 5! It could be Leonard (preferred) or Zeller. I don't want Drummand because of his free throw shooting or lack there of. If we got this & Pau Gasol, I'd be ok also.

We need to come out of this draft with a Center that has the potential to one day be an all-star. By all-star I not talking Hakeem just someone that has the potential to be as good as Gasol or Hibert.

And a good shooting guard. Preferably Bradley Beal but Terrence Ross would be great IMO.

I wanna see us trade Sam n PPat for Okafor and #10
Then trade 10, 16 + Scola for JSmith +23
Then draft Rivers @14 and Melo @ 23
and while were at.... move Kmart/Bud to Minnesota either for 18 or Derrick Williams...
