What is Scott Brooks thinking ?

Miami should thank Houston for sending Fisher to OKC, he single-handedly killed OKC's momentum tonight and took away playing time for nick collison and serge ibaka.

He doesn't really have a choice.

I didn't expect much from Fisher anyway he surprised me up into this series.

James Harden has been the bigger disappointment.

James Harden.

He was playing a lineup of Westbrooke , Durant , Harden , Collison and fisher.

he was benching his frontcourt players, ibaka , collison, perkins in favor of fisher.

It blows my mind that Collison and Ibaka aren't getting minutes together. They would improve the interior defense with their complimentary styles (charges vs. blocks) and both are good offensive rebounders.

What's killing OKC is their inability to take advantage of Bosh being the only big guy on the court for Miami. On offense, Miami has the luxury of putting 4 shooters around a dominant low post game with Lebron. On defense, Miami is able to rebound well because OKC has either been going small to match up OR playing the biggest POS on the floor, Kendrick Perkins.

I completely and absolutely agree. Its scandalous how scott brooks is benching his frontcourt players to accommodate fisher.

This is because Brooks is loathe to try something he hasn't done repetitively in the regular season. He has a comfort zone that is more sacred than winning. I've seen him blow many games because he can't see (or doesn't want to see) things that are obvious to OKC followers. It's been this way for 3 years.

It's why he hasn't signed a contract extension yet. He turned down Sam Presti's offer. I hope Presti sticks to his guns.

Cook played in the regular season and some of the other series. He can play a few minutes. Some games he was a spark plug. I'm not sure why he has been so completely abandoned - especially with the team collectively struggling with their wide open 3's.

It isn't really new because after acquiring Fisher, Brooks focused more on giving him playing time than winning games. It was awful. Fisher had no pulse in the regular season at all yet played plenty of minutes in 4th quarters, just like the Finals.

Speaking of Cook, Fisher is just as one-dimensional. When his shot isn't falling, he's worthless. But unlike Cook, Scott Brooks trusts him.

I guess its not new in this series. But in their series with Dallas , Lakers and San Antonio, they would have been destroyed playing a small ball lineup.

Fisher is not eating up minutes from the backcourt positions he is actually eating up minutes from the power forward position and the center position.

Oklahoma would not have reached the finals playing a lineup of westbrook, durant, harden, fisher and collison against dallas, the lakers, and san antonio.
Scott Brooks is underestimating the value of his frontcourt: ibaka, perkins and collison. Also it puts a strain on westbrook , durant and harden because they have to do more on the defensive end.

It is baffling how the league's leading shotblocker serge ibaka, 23 years old, plays only 27 minutes tonight. No coach has ever won an NBA championship playing small ball i'm surprised scott brooks would risk a season's worth of hard work to experiment with small ball lineups.

Miami is one game from winning with small ball.

OKC played major minutes with small ball all year.
