Asik? Is this what it has come down too?

I can't see what all the fuss is about.

I agree with this. None of them is worth something without a couple of stars that gets them going.

We are still getting role players before stars.

I'd be happy to ship Lee and either pick to CHI for Noah. Of course, if Martin's also on the way out, plus maybe Lowry, I'd say we should use our other pick on a SG, and still trade for another one (or a PG).

Sam Smith? He might as well write for Hoopsworld.

Chicago is thinking about trading Lol Deng and Asik? That's definitely news to me. I haven't seen that anywhere.

If the choices are payin Asik 8M for CLee or Pau 19M and giving up pieces... I'd jus assume pay Okafor his 13M and pocket the #10 pick...for spare parts (Sam/PPat/Bud...).

I know you like Asik CH, but he's a zero on offense. I also wonder about him as a starter. At least gortat showed great flashes as howards backup. If nash leaves, I would prefer a trade for gortat vs paying asik perkins money. Gortat is a much better player. Asik really wouldn't improve the rockets team imo.

You are undervaluing Asik here. The guy is 7'1'' and mobile, a great rebounder, an elite defender both in the paint and chasing smaller guys on pick and rolls. As for playoffs, it was only a 6 game sample, and he did his job for the most part, even while starting for the injured Noash. He missed two crucial FTs, but that's mostly luck since he's basically 50/50 on those anyway.

That said, I might prefer Noah: not quite as big and strong as Asik, but still very good defensively and better shooter and passer. If the Rockes pulls off a Gasol trade, Noah would be a good complement. Maybe something like Gasol for Lowry+Scola and Noah for Dalembert+Patterson+14th pick?

Asik is NOT that good, remmeber the Fysenko hype back in the day

I would rather go with Drummond or Zeller, not some backup maxed out big(who has no jumpshot, and no post game)
