I've got time with him in late June...

I'd like to build a good list of interesting questions to ask him....would welcome your input, and will report back...

Thoughts on the 1st overall pick (at that time we have already made the pick).
ETA for a number of our top prospects including Springer, Singleton and Cosart etc.
Find out anything about Wandy or Myers trade talk (good luck).

How long until he sees this team competing for division titles in the AL West, and if he thinks this season is a forthcoming of a quicker rebuild than planned.

Also, what does he think about the new Rangers rivalry we will have and his thoughts on the fanbases of both.

Congratulations though, sounds awesome. How do you get to see him if you don't mind me asking?

Good questions -- I like the question in particular about how moving to the AL changes his approach.

Regarding the Wandy and Myers trade talk, what I'm interested in is how does he evaluate potential trades -- what stats does he look for and how does he "value" players involved in a trade.

Jeff is a long time friend of a guy I work with

Why aren't there more Owls on the roster?

Ask him what it's like to work for the Qusiling who sent the Astros to the American League.

Is the current team progressing faster than expected?
If the team overachieves this season, how does that affect his approach with trades and the offseason? Willing to trade for a star to compete right away, or still want to stay the course and develop the prospects?

Just let him know to keep up the creative work. He is quickly becoming my favorite GM in Houston, and this is coming from a bandwagon Astros fan who is starting to follow this team more closely than ever because of the young talent. Not good for my blood pressure, but I can' help it

If we are still in striking distance.

Do we remain sellers? Do we become buyers? Or do we stand pat and not risk the future?

2014 seems to be the target date for having a good team.

Who are projected to be the starting pitchers and position players?
Will Crane go after two high priced FAs (one SP, one RF or 3B) to fill in gaps if the team looks like it can compete?

I see possible lineup being:
C Castro
1B Singleton
2B Altuve
SS Lowrie
3B Johnson?
RF ?
CF Springer if ready
LF J.D. Martinez

Norris, Lyles, Cosart starters with two ??

Ask him what the new uniforms will look like. Exactly, not some mumbo jumbo about mixing old heritage with new design. Exactly what they will look like.

Against MLB rules to reveal that until after the season.

Yeah. He is having a private meeting with Luhnow, though.

how awesome would that be just to rub it in the Rangers face every time we play them. "We have to join your Sh**** division, then we take your best player"

what's the interview for?

i'd ask him for some insight into Wade's deadline deals of Pence and Bourn. curious to know how much input Crane and whatever consultants he had at the time had while they were waiting to take over ownership.

i guess that question would be better served for crane, but i'd imagine luhnow knows the details of it.

I heard some talk on the radio about retiring Berkman's number. Will it happen? There is your Owls question. Of a bit more interest to me is will they retire JR Richards number? Also, plant a seed in his brain to ditch OKC as our AAA affiliate when the contract expires for a location closer to home ala the Hooks. I miss having a team at Dell Diamond.
