Man who fathered 30 kids says he needs a break—on child support

And you thought Octomom had her hands full—a Tennessee man who has fathered 30 children is asking the courts for a break on child support.
Desmond Hatchett, 33, of Knoxville has children with 11 different women, reports WREG-TV.

The state already takes half his paycheck and divides it up, which doesn't amount to much when Hatchett is making only minimum wage. Some of the moms receive as little as $1.49 a month. The oldest child is 14 years old.

Hatchett explains how he reached such a critical mass: He had four kids in the same year. Twice.

Back in 2009 when Hatchett was in court to answer charges that many of the mothers were not receiving child support, he had 21 children. At the time, he said he was not going to father any more kids, but he ended up having nine more in the past three years.

The state cannot order Hatchett to stop making babies. He hasn't broken any laws, according to the report.

At least we know in 20 years the Republican party of today will be gone. All the anti-gay stupidity, all this insane hate for immigrants and the poor will finally be over as the party has to become less radical to have any semblance of power.

Gay rights might be settled; but insecure, isolated, middle-class white people aren't going anywhere soon.

True, they can always blame immigrants, folks with advanced degrees or long for the imagined good life of the 18yh century frontier. If they are young healthy and feel that they are smarter than the average bear, there is also libertarianism which promises utopia and an end to their economic troubles if only it is tried.

It will be a long slow slog, perhaps for another lost generation, for life experience to undo the spin the billionaire think tanks have inculcated.

why do you persist in attributing a single person's argument to an entire group of people?

Why not debate the arguments themselves?

I think states should no longer get free hand outs. That is...get no more federals dollars than they contribute. Why should I pay for bigtexxs nice highway so he can drive 50 miles to work when My street has potholes on it just because I take the subway???

Most probably---

Quote:
The monitoring of federal spending and taxation and its variation between states in the United States began in 1977 under a query run by Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Democratic senator of New York. The query was designed to determine whether the state of New York was paying more in taxes than it was receiving in federal spending. The determination is made by looking at an individual state’s balance of payments (BOP), which is total income minus outlays.

Initially, many thought New York was a net gainer, receiving more funding than it was paying out in taxes, because of large payments to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, but in actuality, those payments were interest payments on the United States federal debt, which were distributed to foreign individuals and governments for purchasing of US Treasury Bonds (Leonard and Walder, Page 9). After separating those expenditures from actual expenditures in New York, it was found that the state was actually a donor. This event stimulated more controversy over the topic of spending and taxation.

After the Federal Community Services Administration noticed the flaw in the balance of payments in New York, they revised its data and provided the revised data under the title, The Geographical Distribution of Federal Expenditures, which was used in determining the expenditures for this analysis. This is now entitled: "the Fisc".
