1.) Veteran support for a playoff push.
2.) Beat a high seeded team, most probably OKC.
3.) Even if we don't reach the NBA finals we get a better season than last year.
(Playoff tickets revenue, baby!)
4.) More flexibility to add more talent come 3013.

Seems all the moves are headed that way. Earn money and conserve money. Moneyball at it's finest?

Yes in 3013 maybe 1001 years from now the Rockets may actually be a contender.

I think we could push the Thunder to 6 or 7 games.

Call me crazy, but I'm fine with being the scrappy, overacheiving underdog- so long as we make the playoffs.

I suppose it's kinda nice of Morey to give his coach some additional support for a playoff push instead of cutting his coach's legs out from under him like he did with Adelman.
