I hear it was an "amphetamine-based designer drug". Considering his performance lately, you'd think he would have had someone design him a better drug than that.

(I shouldn't be so hard on him... maybe he needed to escape reality, and that will definitely do that for you. If the last couple of seasons have been driving Rudy T., Scottie, etc. to drink, maybe he just decided to take it one step further. )

NEW YORK -- Stanley Roberts of the Philadelphia 76ers was expelled from the NBA on Wednesday after testing positive for a prohibited drug.



Roberts had been placed on the injured list by the 76ers on Tuesday because of a lower back strain.
The NBA said in a statement Wednesday that Roberts tested positive for an "amphetamine-based designer drug" which is prohibited by the Anti-Drug Program agreed to by the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association. A positive test under the program requires that a player be expelled.

Roberts has appeared in five games for the 76ers, averaging 10.2 minutes, 2 points and 3 rebounds per game. He missed the first five games of the season while he was rehabilitating from shoulder surgery.

Roberts cannot apply for reinstatement for at least two years, the NBA said.

if that bum stanley would have gotten himself into shape, he cud've become the next shaq. That's what calvin murphy and bill worrell were saying while he had him. I mean, look at him. He's huge. But shaq is MUCH more agile than him and has A LOT more muscle mass than stanley does. THINK ABOUT IT, a shaq that could shoot free throws and the open jumper pretty well. I pity stanley for not getting into shape; he could've become so much more than the fat drug addict that he is today. :-(

Stanley Roberts will be suspended for two years before eligibility for reinstatement, but the fat got into his brain cells that I heard on TV he is considering litigation.
