Thanks to poster Matt Maloney for bringing this interview to my attention in another thread. Rep him if you like it.

    He also talks about:
    • winning without an established all-star
    • end-game strategy without a goto guy

I like McHale's honesty, but hope he doesn't air it all out like this. He's clearly ingrained in old school ways and not adjusting to the modern NBA's mentality.

I'm one of the biggest Rick the Ruler supporters, but I have to say I'm starting to fall in love with Herman Munster. McHale has provided my sig for the foreseeable future.

Kind interesting. I remember Bill Simmons mentioning that Larry Bird thought McHale was kind of an underachiever.

Compared to Bird, everyone was an underachiever. Bird was a top 5 player in NBA history and he did it with almost no athleticism.

Wow. I'm not a Rome fan, really, but he did a great job of shutting up and letting McHale talk. Just an amazing interview. And I have to admit that this guy I've enjoyed hating for years is winning me over. I liked what he had to say.

Crap. Fear the Jungle Karma. Might throw our hot streak in a rut. If it happens you know who to blame.

I'm one of the biggest Mchale supporters even before the season started, but now that I think about it does anyone know if Mchale had prior experience as a coach? Thinking about it now it was kind of random that the owner would suddenly make him coach. It was as if Les Alexander would suddenly make DM the new Rox coach.

Great interview! It made me think of Dream when he first came in the League as Akeem and Yao when he played his first game in the NBA and stunk it up… Those two really out worked their God given talents. We have been fortunate to have two men of high character play for OUR team and represent The Rockets.

Is there a trick to get the podcast to play?
Tried 4 different browsers, and can't get it to load.

    Thanks in advance.

McHale is the perfect coach for Morey's GM style.

McHale is quick to adjust to how players are playing that night. He always seems to put the most efficient team on the floor.

The worst of McHale is that I can't understand half of what he says, but he look ok.

I like McHale, I was always frustrated with how RA was a little bit more rigid in his rotations and would be less hesitant to leave in bench players as we have done successfully lately. RA is a better coach but McHale is still young in that regard.
